In the original he was hit in the head with a radioactive canister, that then hit the turtles bowl and fell into the sewers with them where it broke and covered them with what ever changed them... I'm also now remembering that the ninja turtles also appeared in Power Rangers soo... I guess theoretically they all exist in the same universe

As soon as you said you were watching these I went back and finished DD both seasons, Jessica Jones season one, Luke Cage season one and now I am on Iron Fist. Not sure if you noticed but the poster in the boxing gym said Creel vs Murdock. Creel is the same guy from Agents of Sheild.
