You couldn't tell the first time but when you look back or watch again like I did this time you could see every time Michael was trying to "help" them he was actually torturing them with their own weaknesses, insecurities, selfishness, indecisiveness and dishonesty.

2020-05-21 18:58:41 +0000 UTCI remember starting watching this show and thought it was just something I didn't have to pay too much attention too and good enough in the moment, but then I started to noticed it had an arc and all of sudden I was more invested in the show and I had no idea about the twist coming in this episode which made me really like the reveal and the actions of the characters to the reveal :) Also thanks Zoot for making this reaction possible

2019-06-30 06:15:39 +0000 UTCI am a bit behind on reacts but I was so excited for you to get to this one! It is such a mind exploder. And I was a bit angry afterwards because I wanted Ted Danson's character to be as goofy and sincere as he was, and it threw everything out the window and I fought against that. but it ends up being an incredibly bold move that keeps reaping rewards! They kept a tight lid on, even from most of the main cast. And it's more of a time loop than a memory loss. Or maybe both. But it is fantastic!

2019-05-21 17:12:49 +0000 UTCI didn't know what the twist was but I knew there was one so whilst it was still a shock, it would've been nicer not to have known. Having rewatched series 1, it's fun going back and seeing all the signs that Michael is torturing the fork out of these people. I mean, there's a whole plot about Michael trying to make Chidi choose between hobbies he'd be terrible at then telling him his thesis was complete nonsense and it doesn't raise any eyebrows because you just think he's being helpful! I love this show so much :)

2019-05-21 15:06:32 +0000 UTCOf all the actors, only Kristen Bell and Ted Danson knew of the big twist since the beginning of the show. I believe the twist was what sold Danson on taking the part of Michael. :)
