That being said, I agree with a lot of what you said too. The sister relationship is probably the best part of the show. Also, the scene in the coffee shop at the beginning "I'm an alien" got me good. That was funny.

2020-06-01 05:54:32 +0000 UTC3 episodes in and I DO NOT ship Jimmy / Kara. I also totally agree with you about the villain not seeming powerful enough to have caused any problems for Superman. I think, if they wanted to tell this type of story this early and have it be someone who Superman "couldn't" defeat, they should have used someone who always had a trick up his sleeve so that he always got a way, and Kara could defeat him either by relying on some help from her friends, or just out smarting him.

Kara got a lot of help from a lot of smart people in figuring out how to track him, who he was, and how to stop him, while Clark always works alone. Also, I think the point of this episode is to put a barrier between Superman and Supergirl. He jokingly tells her that he won't ever save her life again, so it stops that question viewers may have of why don't they just call Superman when things get tough for Kara. It's a bit contrived to get to that point, but it works, I guess.

2019-09-13 02:35:25 +0000 UTCGood eye that was Los Angeles. The first season of Supergirl was on CBS and was filmed in their studios in Los Angeles. It really gives it a different look than other Arrowverse shows which are filmed in Vancouver.
