I'd agree with you that Caroline and Alaric being together is icky if they were actually together. but the way it is, with their relationship being platonic and being mostly about Josie & Lizzie, I don't have a problem with it. Even with Alaric having real feelings for Caroline -- I can understand that. I can understand how the overwhelming gratitude he feels for the fact that she gave birth to his daughters, giving him the family he's always wanted and never thought he'd be able to have, and has been the girls' mother in every way that matters, turning into love on his behalf. So I don't have a problem with any of that. I'd find it icky if Caroline returned his feelings and it was a real relationship, but I don't have a problem with the arrangement they actually have.
