It's not in any way different... Klaus literally murdered Gina last season. ;) Let's not forget Tyler's mom and Jenna from TVD either. The most interesting example is Elijah forgave Klaus for killing their own mother and keeping it secret. The family is built on forgiveness. It's not entirely Elijah's fault. Marcel took the formula the moment he was handed it. He was clearly always going to enact this revenge. You don't drink a formula intended to be the Mikaelson's destruction unless you planned to do so. He made that clear at Davina's funeral.
