Stargirl S01E04 - Wildcat FULL REACTION

Newfound popularity thanks to television to will do that. It's happened quite a few times actually. Batman villain Iceman was a C league villain that had been killed off and forgotten before BTAS made him awesome and he was brought back too.

Count me in for a Smallville re-watch, particularly the JSA 2 hour/2-parter "Absolute Justice" from Season 9. And other Justice League type episodes with Arthur, Bart, and Victor. I forget which Arrowverse episode you asked it in this week, but the last time we saw Doctor Fate's Helmet in the Arrowverse was in Constantine's house in the pilot episode of his show.

Beth didn't see that it was Yolanda in the outfit...but she sure did hear Courtney yell out Yolanda's name at the top of her lungs! You know, something you should never do when you're trying to keep identities a secret lol

Paul Gregory

yolanda was brought back recently after being dead for decades so yay!

Tsukiakari1203

yolanda in the comics was ted grant/wildcat's goddaughter and protege. she was wildcat on infinity inc and later died fighting eclipso in a storyline

Tsukiakari1203

according to the showrunner that's actually her cousin. they just never managed to bring it up. he's a bad guy in the comics i think

Tsukiakari1203

Dramatically effective. It leaves room to explore how the family dynamic might change, or not change, after she laid her heart bare. I understand if that wasn't their intention. I'm just suggesting that if they made a different choice, creatively, it might've led to different, and potentially more effective, dramatic possibilities.

Jordan St. James

Effective in what? The purpose of that scene wasn't to leave it ambiguous. Sure we were basically told the information twice but we needed to actually see how her parents reacted rather than have us know as an audience by Yolanda telling Courtney after the fact. We need to see it as it happens.

Paul Gregory

Yolanda is my favorite character on the show. I think she's awesome and the actress is great. Yeah, her family pretty much sucks, except her brother, but that's how some families are. I guess it's a good thing she found someone who doesn't care about her past so that she finally has a chance to move forward with love and support.

John Boehmer

Would've been funny if Pat told that guy at the junkyard, straight up, that he was building a giant robot, but as a joke. After that time machine comment, that's what I would've done.

Jordan St. James

Honestly, I think that confession scene at the end would've been more effective if the parents were just silent and it was left more ambiguous as to how and what they were actually feeling at that point.

Jordan St. James

I knew beforehand that religion was going to be involved with Yolanda. But, honestly, they didn't lean into it as much with the parents as I thought they would. If anything, it was more implied than outright stated. And yet, that seems to be what everyone is pointing at. I'm not saying it's necessarily unrealistic, but it seems like such an easy thing at this point, having people be dicks because of religion. We often get more negative than positive portrayals of religion in popular media. I really don't think religion makes people do bad things, they do that themselves and just use it as an excuse.

Jordan St. James

Geez, girl, I know he started a chain reaction that sent your life into a downward spiral, but attempted murder, or in the very least, assault, is a bit of an overreaction. He wasn't even the sole person responsible.

Jordan St. James

Please tell me I wasn't the only one getting major Black Panther vibes from that costume and powers.

Jordan St. James

Kate would actually fit right in with these characters. We can only hope to imagine...

Jordan St. James

Even if it is in character for Courtney, doesn't make it any less reckless. I was thinking along the same lines. You make a really great point(s).

Jordan St. James

It’s in character for her. She hasn’t really thought anything through so far in this show. It also kind of fits with her being desperate to make a friend as well as find someone to team up with her.

Zach Hershman

This episode started with a song sang by Kate Bishop. DC / Marvel crossover! (Hailee Steinfeld wasn’t cast in Hawkeye yet)

Zach Hershman

It seemed odd to me that Courtney so easily revealed to Yolanda that she was Stargirl and give the whole history of the JSA and everything. I mean, all that she saw was that Yolanda was hitting a bag. That means she has the makings of a superhero sidekick? Yolanda's backstory could have easily been the origins of a super villain. That's actually where I thought they were going with it. It was good that she ended up joining her but there were so many ways it could have backfired. I guess she was looking for someone to partner up with, since her stepdad said he doesn't want to. But she should be more careful who she reveals herself to.

Brandon Wiesner

Yolanda's parents are the worst. I know their religious, I'm religious and I would be angry on her behalf, not at her; she's already going to be going through so much at school, she needs a safe place and her parents should be providing that for her not judging her and making her feel so bad about herself. Also, Beth Knew it was Yolanda on the wall because she heard Courtney say her name, and I believe that Denise Zarick is dead because her car is destroyed, she wouldn't have left some of her son's belongings and that was her cat.

Jeremy Burch

I feel really bad for Yolanda. We've seen that almost everyone in the Injustice Society have kids and so far, most of them seem to be better parents than Yolanda's parents
