Stargate SG-1 S02E18 - Serpent's Song FULL REACTION

Comments

A bit late, but I thought I'd put in for a fun fact. Death Valley in the US can actually get as hot as the gate room gets in this episode! (the earlier temps at 130, not the later ones) I believe it's the hottest place on Earth. It's a bit of a tourrist attraction, but if your car breaks down or you get lost, you will die of heat exposure if you found quickly enough! And yes, people actually live there!

Oh shit yeah.. You're right!

1. Ok so I'll try to explain it and please try to carefully follow.. Back in the episode where O'neill and Sam ended up at the 2nd gate.... They dialed from "Off World Gate" to "SGC Gate" .....But when "Off World Gate" got hit by a staff weapon blast the wormhole shifted from going to "SGC gate" to going to "2nd Gate" instead.. And this is how they ended up in the ice.... Now... In the blackhole episode.... Assume that "SGC Gate" is the equivalent of "Off World Gate" ....We dialed out to the "Blackhole Gate" ....O'neill setting off a bomb effectively shifted the "SGC Gate" outgoing connection from going to "Blackhole Gate" to instead going to a "Random Gate" and thus it shut down the Blackhole Gate entirely.. Leaving the black hole to no longer cause a problem for anyone ....We both got it wrong Froots 2. Hmmmm.. I don't know how or if the progress of time affects airflow.. It could go slower in the event of a time dialation... Which could make the flow of molecules that make up air more or less dense resulting in breathing issues... I dunno.. I never finished my Science degree.. But you might be right 3. Does old man Machello look familiar? ....Technically Machello is speaking the truth... He IS Daniel Jackson Froots... That is Michael Shanks in old man make-up! 4. Fake Daniel has got a bit of a dookie walk going on 5. Yeeeaahh.. I figured you'd like this one.. Christopher Judge is acting so completely different.. It's fun! ...RDA could have done a liiiitttle better on his Teal'c impersonation though.. He comes off a bit like a robot 6. Sure he has a piehole... But did Machello ever have ice-cream before? 7. The acting chops on Michael Shanks.... Pretty sure that once again he's pronouncing "Goa'uld" in a different way since he's playing a different character.. Attention to detail this dude has ...added later... Ok yeah you saw it too.. I don't agree with the whole "Pronouncing it different cause he despises them" though... That's just made up by fans unless someone can point me to where Michael actually said this 8. Yeah when going to a desert planet I suppose they would be better suited to wear desert camo so to blend in.. We've seen forest camo and desert camo so far.. Makes you wonder what else kinda camo there is 9. Apophis can seek sanctuary with the Tau'ri.. It'd be highly unlikely that we would believe him though.. But I suppose it'd be no different than Teal'c switching sides to join us.. Although Teal'c can be trusted... Apophis probably can't be 10. HA! Yeah Teal'c is laying back in his chair.. We haven't seen him have this big a smile on his face since EVER. ....Changing bodies with O'neill doesn't count ofcourse 11. I disagree.. NOT shooting him and taking the opportunity to get some information out of him is the best choice ...It might not all be good information.. But at least you'd have the opportunity to get something 12. The iris is made of trinium now yeah.. But I suppose trinium still classifies as a form of metal... Besides.. This is Martouf's first visit to the SGC since the 2 parter.. The trinium iris wasn't installed until after his visit.. He might've just fucked up thinking it was made out of normal boring ass metal ...added before posting... Turns out Martouf doesn't care to listen.. While editing this I noticed Sam LITERALLY said it was made out of a trinium titanium alloy in the very same scene! 13. Actually.. The 38 minutes thing was in a comment sure... But it was also stated in the black hole episode.. You were probably just not paying attention at the time.. It happens.. No big deal.. You didn't get spoiled 14. (The gate is getting hosed and Hammond is seen wiping off sweat.. You say: "Thats me") Sure Froots... Let's spray you up with some liquid nitrogen.. That'll cool you down 15. HA! Yeah.. Imagine Teal'c just yeeting Apophis's "lifeless" body through the gate.. WEEEE! (Did not add WEEEE! sound effect to edit.. Added a slurp sound effect though like you suggested) 16. added much later... So as you can recall someone on Twitter accidentally tagged you on a tweet about the YouTube edit of 1x22.. The tweet itself was from a well known Stargate page with over 5000 followers... Shout to @thegatecast ..Thanks for checking out the edit! ..But also.. One of their followers is Peter Williams A.K.A. Aphophis... There's a sliiiiight chance that he might've seen your video... Wassup Apophis! Tel Shak Amel.. I DIE FREE! :P

Tony

I will say that Peter Williams, the actor that played Apophis, did an amazing job. Switching around from evil arrogant Apophis, frightened Apophis, pained Apophis, and all the gambit on the host as well. Really well done.

General Hammond came in gate room just minutes before Apophis left in first scene in pilot of SG1.

I think i usually skip this one on rewatches, its not bad but like you said nothing much changed.
