The Jessie's girl joke is undercut by the fact that his ex declined his proposal and then took his cat in the breakup. Thats heartbreaking.

Somehow the 2nd episode was worse than the first, usually a pilot creates the foundation then the 2nd episode starts to build up the framework, but they decided to head towards the gutter instead. The jokes especially were more like toilet humor (bordering on crude) than actual humor, and somehow they think using sayings like "Simp" is going to be "hip" with the younger audience but really the only people who use terms like that are poorly educated twitch viewers who wouldn't probably watch this. Instead they should be trying to bridge the gap between HIMYM viewers and modern day comedy viewers then slowly shift towards their own identity.
