The girl in VR dressed up in the old Supergirl suit, the actress played Roulette on Smallville, who on this show was played by "Jiaying". The song that reminded you of Delena, here it was a callback on this show to the Sanvers break-up. When Alex and Maggie danced to it before making love one last time and then Maggie leaving.

They are using the VR technology as a weapon and are trying to trap as many people in the simulation as they can. It's all part of Leviathon's plans. Why they are doing this is still to be determined.

I do get the feeling that the death of her father was just a reason to get Alex in a Supergirl suit.
