Yeah, they do tend to have erroneous tropes for video games in TV shows and movies. I think its like that for most things. I was on a submarine for 6 years and they never get it right on TV or movies. I hear its the same for Doctors watching medical shows and lawyers watching legal shows. cops...etc.

I always find these gaming episodes cringy, the games always look stupidly bad and of course use bad 3d animations.
