It might've felt like they should have given the desert rose to Batwoman before dealing with Alice, but who's to say that they were even planning on giving it to her? They lied about Kate and they could have lied about giving her the desert rose. Besides, if she had chosen to save Kate over herself, Safiyah wouldn't have honored that since she didn't have Kate.

2022-05-10 07:22:36 +0000 UTCI had a good feeling that Batwoman was doomed the second they gave the green light for the Gotham Knights pilot. The plot of that show is based on a Gotham city where Batman isn't around. It wouldn't make much sense if it existed with Batwoman being around instead. It would have been nice if they had given the writers a chance to write a proper ending though. (I'm assuming it ends on a cliffhanger. I haven't actually seen most of season 3.)
