They should have cut the scene with Jack on the beach to give the scene where Daniel finds out more time to breathe. Maybe show him hearing her say it and show some anger. Also, her admitting everything to Victoria was dumb. I get that she didn't care because she was setting her up for murder, but why give her anything to look into for her defense? She could easily spin the murder as self defense from a woman that has been targeting her family for years.

Also I don't think Emily really confessed to Victoria for Daniel to hear that she was after their family. Victoria accused her. I don't think she said "you're right" about anything other than lying about the pregnancy. She definitely didn't explain why she was after them and it was weird that Daniel didn't really ask.
