Stargate SG-1 S04E19 - Prodigy FULL REACTION

Actually, I wouldn't ask something like that, but can I maybe write to you somewhere?

According to a quick search it's also located in the Endor System, meaning the star these planets and it's moons are orbitting is ALSO called Endor. Sounds like someone REALLY needed this place to be easily found on Google Galactic Street View. 😳

I personally like this episode (I seriously considered attending the air force academy back in high school so i like seeing it represented in the beginning) but I also seem to have a proclivity for liking the slower episodes for some reason.

Haven't watch the reaction yet, but I just wanted to say that the pilot of the show aired on July 27th 1997. So.... HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY STARGATE :D

I've always thought the same, however in this case Jack woke up so quickly beause they used smelling salts (or something similar) to revive him.

Hi Shan, I'm doing Ok. Glad you're feeling better. :o) I do like this episode, Its not near the top at all but I do enjoy it. 1. I liked the real Chief of Staff of Air Force making an appearance show. Very Kewl. 2. I love reveal episodes. 3. I like it when they show numerous women in the role of not only in the military but having genius level intellect. Too often shows will have one smart women and treat her like a "one of a kind". And military women are often regulated to being Yeomen (that's a military secretary) or nurses only. 4. I liked Jack's interactions with the snotty scientist.

The home of the Ewoks is a moon of the planet Endor. The moon is also named Endor...thats weird.

RDA asked General Ryan: "Do you really have Air Force Colonels who act the way I do?". General Ryan replied, "Yes, and worse!"

So, my theory on the zat guns is that there will be a variation on the length of time that people are knocked out for because everyone's body is different (electro-chemical stuff and all that) and even the same person can and will have varying length's of time depending on how different their own bodies are from time to time. I still think that my theory wouldn't account for big variations...but what we are talking about here is a theory from a non-expert on a subject that doesn't exist in reality :)

Saturn's moon, Titan, has a thick atmosphere. It's composed of hydrocarbons, which are molecules that contain hydrogen and carbon. It's cold enough that it has lakes of methane, which drive a cycle of evaporation and rain, like the water cycle on Earth.

It's something that's never addressed, but since it's stated that to work a Goa'uld hand device is that you need naquada in your blood which Jaffa would have from the larval symmbiotes in their patch just like a human host gets it from the symbiote in their head, so I believe the Jaffa could use the devices, they were just conditioned since birth for generations that it was "the magic of the gods" the only way I see out is since the Jaffa have larval Goa'uld maybe their naquada count is lower & the Goa'uld could set the devices to require a minimum naquda requirement that the Jaffa wouldn't meet

Retro Tom

Isn't Pandora in Avatar also a moon? I think I remember it being next to a gas giant.

Scarlett Monrow

Yes, a moon is simply a ball of rock (or whatever the composition) that orbits a larger object. If the "moon" is large enough it will have enough gravity to retain an atmosphere. I don't know of any offhand, but I'm sure there are MANY ... if not in our own solar system, at least out there in the universe, where moons are bigger than the earth itself

ar47yrr4p

A moon can have an atmosphere if it's large enough. Several moons in the Solar System have atmospheres. For one of those moons to have oxygen, it would depend on it being the right distance from its star (not too hot or too cold) for photosynthesising life to form.

In regards to the Zat guns and the consistency of how long people are knocked out (if at all) after being shot, you're definitely not wrong about the inconsistency. In this particular episode though, they do show briefly them putting smelling salts up to Jack's nose after he falls to make sure he doesn't fall completely unconscious.

Fun fact: General Ryan, the general at the beginning of this episode talking with General Hammond when Jack walks in, was the real General Ryan and chief of staff from the U.S. Air Force at the time of filming.
