I completely disagree. I think its fun that they changed things up. Ive said it before and ill say it again, season 6 and 7 is a different story. Its not the same show and its not trying to be. The main theme of them surviving is still very much in tact this season. I just feel like people dont like change and want things to be exactly the same. Theres nothing wrong with this show wanting to explore more scifi elements or have alot of technology. I dont understand why people leave over changes when the characters you know and love is still very much involved. If you watch it through a different perspective like its a soft reboot/spinoff (which it should have been) then it would have been better received but these last 2 seasons left open so many more story possibilities than previous seasons. You can only destroy the earth so many times before its just gone. This show just truly evolved into something different while other shows just try to stay the same and end up failing at it. (Im so sorry if this was rude or disrespectful, i really try to not be but i have trouble putting my thoughts into words and trying to explain my thoughts. Im just having a bad mental health few weeks and im sorry shan for forcing you to read all this. I just think people dont give it a chance and if people looked at it the way i do then maybe they would enjoy it more. Its better to try and look at the good parts instead of dwelling on what you dont like)

I would say the 100’s core element would be “survival while dealing or coexist with a foreign group. Each season, the groups would end up fighting, our group would win and the reminisce of their group would either be dead or join our group.” The show has changed to in season 6 dealing with advanced technology and being on a new “planet”; however, it still has the same core elements. The one time they changed that was season 3. Season 3 broke element by doing the City of Light. It was a sudden shift away from what the show was known for. When you do that, you lose people. In the 100’s case they lost a half a million views. Everyone has a line where straying away from the core show elements goes too far and you lose them. For many people, that was season 3 and for a lot of people, including me, that was season 7 too. When I was watching this live, this is about where I stopped watching. It was just too far and it stopped being enjoyable. I eventually did end up coming back to finish it but it was a while later. Change in a show is good but if it gets to the point where it’s unrecognizable, it is bad. Don’t get me wrong, I think the concept of space traveling with gates is cool; but best if left to Jack O’Neill than Octavia Blake

2023-02-09 00:37:43 +0000 UTCAm I blind? I swear that Gabriel didn’t have face tattoos, and yet no one at the celebration noticed? As far as Hope choosing her mom over Octavia, Octavia spent half of Hope’s childhood trying to get back to her brother. It would be a reasonable assumption that Hope has a better connection with her mother. Otherwise, maybe Hope believes Octavia can save herself as she’s always done? Octavia is pretty god-like at this point in time. A navy seal has nothing on her. Edit: I hate that ending. Everyone in this show is becoming remorseless murderers, and I don’t like it. Echo was a spy. Spies are defined by their intelligence. She should have been able to put the mission first. And for someone whose first kill was so tragic, this purposeless killing is so out of character. That “doctor” didn’t kill him. He’s not even in charge of anything. She killed a sheep, thinking that it was a lion. It’s an insult to her intelligence.

Its themes are still the same, they are still just trying to survive whatever comes their way but in different ways which arguably makes it feel fresh. I can see where youre coming from but i dont agree. I think its ok for a show to end up becoming very different by the end. Thats why i said you have to have the right mindset to enjoy it. If you dont expect the first few seasons then you can let yourself enjoy it for what it is. The characters carry this season anyways! Also the show has always been Sci-Fi. They just leaned more into the Sci-FI then they did previously. I think the reason Clarke is acting so different this season is because she is not grieving and shes not letting herself feel anything since her mom died. Shes just boxing it all up and thats dangerous and can deeply affect the way you act. So she might feel more cold since shes not letting herself feel anything. I dont know why i feel the need to defend this show so hard. I just love it so much, one of my favorite shows and i guess i just dont like when people are negative towards it but i respect and understand your opinion and points. I will just shut up because i know im annoying. One thing i do really love about these 2 seasons is the character development for octavia and murphy.
