I'll even re-emphasize what Brandon said above, that if that's the only thing keeping you from watching further episodes, that this series doesn't have even remotely close the number of zombies as the game has. So much so that there's even a notable voice of game fans out there that have voiced that as a complaint about the series. ;)

When the game came out, no one was prepared for Sarah dying and it is greatly heralded as one of the saddest and most painful and shocking video game deaths of all time. Even knowing it was going to happen in the series, it's still a very powerful moment. If you are on the fence about watching more episodes, without giving anything away, I can tell you that it's not heavy on the zombies, nearly as much as the game.

2023-03-29 02:57:54 +0000 UTCThis was one of my favorite pilots in a long time. The opening scene was great especially because most of what he said is true. There are fungi that will control insects like zombies-ish. This episode was very faithful to the game. The difference between the game and show is they remove a lot of the actual gameplay sections and replaced them with more backstory for the characters. For instance, the game actually starts with Sarah on the couch when Joel walks in. In the show, that happens almost 20 minutes into the episode I believe. The connection you get with Sarah in the game is you play as her for the first section. Since you donโt get that connection in the show, they spent extra time making you like her. This was especially risky cuz most people assumed she was gonna die and if you played the game, you knew she dies. It is crazy how much of the dialogue and scenes in the first episode are lifted straight from the game. For people who havenโt played the game, itโs a completely new story. For those who have, they add a lot of backstory and you get to say โomg they said the lineโ a bunch which is fun. I am gonna keep pick this show back and forth with RWBY as long as Shan allows me to. PS: Sorry again about the infected/zombies
