2023-05-05 02:31:50 +0000 UTCNute Gunray is one of the leaders of the Separatist alliance. He has knowledge that could be key to dealing a major strike against the separatist army. He is absolutely worth the effort from the Republic's side. There's a reason Dooku ordered Asajj to kill Gunray if all else fails. To the Separatists he is of more use dead than alive and in Republic hands. If he died, the Separatists would simply replace him and the Republic would be without much needed intel. Not to mention that killing a prisoner of war is itself a war crime. The clone commander could and probably would have gotten court marshalled, had he intentionally shot and killed Gunray.
