Actually, Oliver woke up in Barry and Iris' bed alone. Iris was in the kitchen.

I actually like this premiere let me get this out of the way first I don't care about Chester and Allegra relationship they can burn in hell for all I care
Barry and lris actually being like a actually couple was nice and a refreshing change of pace having fun for a change
So when Allegra mention cat grant and Kara maybe I was hoping for a Cameo from one of them then again I would probably freak out if I saw Kara
So Iris is going to get pregnant so this we might see Nora as baby which is
The reason why Joe wants leave is the actor Jessie L Martin got cast on a another show so he longer a series regular anymore he reccuring character now
I'm kinda pissed off that they killed off a person that been since season 1 does Eric Wallace want to kill off and get rid of all of the series regular and try to get us to care about the new characters well guess what that not working
We care about the characters that were there since season 1 because we attachment to them no one cares about these new and terrible characters like don't include them at all
Also captain boomerang is actually a green arrow and flash villain in the comics so it's makes perfect sense that a version of him would eventually show up
Sometime introducing a new character work examples from another arrowverse shows from new people coming that I grew to love
1. Nia
2. Ryan
3. Nate
4. Ava
5. Brainy
6 Ralph
That's all of the characters I can think of at the moment
But solid premier love seeing Barry having fun

Right, totally forgot about Elseworlds. Also yeah I meant shard. The one time autocorrect could've actually been useful.

Did you say a the Lava monster had a glass "shart" ....π ... sorry.
Yes, we saw Iris and Barry's bedroom before. But we saw Oliver in bed with Iris instead of Barry.

This episode was a lot of fun, even if it was lazy, because they have done it before, multiple times in the Arrowverse. Solid premiere.

The lava meta at the start of the episode is Tarpit. He first appeared in season 2 in the episode where Harry first stole Barry's speed and thus Barry couldn't save Iris from a glass shard.
Yes, the intro is longer. It's now playing out the entire Flash theme, while it only played basically the first half of the theme from season 6 to 8.
For season 9 the show got the camera's from I think Batwoman or some other CW show that got cancelled after Arrowverse year 10 ended, thus causing the more cinematic aspect ratio.
The last time we saw Barry and Iris' bedroom was either in season 3 episode 22 when Iris did the whole "in case I die" message or some time in early season 4. They actually built an entirely new set for the bedroom.
Captain Boomerang is a title held by two different people in the comics. The original Captain Boomerang, Digger Harkness, we saw adapted in Arrow 8 years ago and this is the 2nd Captain Boomerang who I think was related to Bart Allen in the comics.
Everyone blaming Barry whenever timey wimey shenanigans happen is still one of my favorite running gags of the show.
Overall I really enjoyed this episode. It's a solid start into the season. This time they managed to really do the time loop quite well, I especially loved the small montage of several loops. Grant and Candice did a great job this episode. They had some real great chemistry and interactions.
Also this episode used alot of soundtracks from the early seasons, which I love.
Oh yeah almost forgot. Barry just casually phased a nuclear explosion, like a fucking badass. Love it.

I think we should all just have low expectations for this final season, so if it isn't the way we wanted it, then we wouldn't be as disappointed. But if it turns out to be a good ending, then we will be pleasantly surprised. What does MJ say in NWH? "Expect disappointment, so you won't be disappointed" or something like that? It's been a while; I can't remember exactly what she said, but you know what I mean, lol.
When you were talking about when the show went down in quality, I think I would honestly say 6b is when the show went down for me. I liked season 4 and 5. I think 4 and 5 still had overall better writing and consistency than the most recent seasons. They still had a lot of moments that felt like the classic Flash, but now it just feels like a completely different show. I was looking back, and season 4 and 5 had VERY good episodes and had clever writing, and they didn't treat anyone like a baby. After Crisis, the quality just dropped drastically, which is sad. I wonder what suddenly changed between 6a and 6b. Was there a sudden writers' room change? I just don't get it.
By the way, I thought every season of Smallville was good. Some were better than others, but I never disliked any. I didn't even know other people didn't like some seasons until way after I watched, lol.
I know I should be mad at them killing off Caitlin, but I can't help but love Khione. I just love her personality and how nice, sweet, and naive she is. It's just charming to me. I do hope they manage to bring Caitlin back in the series finale. Maybe Caitlin and Frost, so we can get a triplet sister meeting.
(Added Later) (I'm sorry this turned into a big rant, and I didn't mean for it to happen; it just all came out. I wanted this show to do better, and I just had to get all my feelings out, so sorry for making you read this all). I just learned something about Eric Wallace. I think he said somewhere that he doesn't like violence, and he double downs on Chester, saying he's a pacifist, so maybe he is one himself, which could explain why the action has been really bad ever since he took over and why he talks the villains out of things more than he used to. I don't think you should run a superhero show if you don't believe in violence, though, because that's just silly. No wonder the last few seasons have very low ratings and a lot of fans pissed. I wish we had Todd back as showrunner because at least season 4 and 5 still felt like The Flash, and he wasn't taking away violence and shoehorning Chester and Allegra. Have you noticed Barry hasn't been the main character as much as he used to be? Now Cecile, Chester, and Allegra get A LOT more focus, and it's annoying. This episode did good with Barry and Iris screentime, but most of the time, Barry doesn't have much importance. The filler episodes aren't fun like they used to be, and there are really no mysteries like we had for the first 5 seasons. Each season had a mystery until season 6 when Eric Wallace took over. Barry was always the main character, and the side characters were well-handled. How many Barry-focused episodes have we had since Eric took over compared to a Cecile, Allegra, or Chester-focused episode? Not much. The main complaint with the show now is how Barry feels like a side character in his own show. They don't even have that much fun anymore. Team Flash doesn't even know the multiverse exists yet. They still think they are the only Earth from Crisis. They should have known about that a while ago. Why is Cecile "leveling up" every other episode, and why do they keep using that word? I don't even mind Cecile having powers, but what bothers me is them constantly changing her powers for no reason. Just let her have one power and stick with it. Chester and Allegra are just boring and annoying characters. They didn't need to be that way. There were many ways they could have made them likable, but they just doubled down on everything. Well, at least Allegra isn't as whiny or annoying as in season 6; I'll give them that, but she's still annoying. And yes, earlier about killing Caitlin off, I changed my mind. Even if she does come back in the series finale, I still think it's sad that she couldn't be in the final season. Also, they are doing very weird stuff now. Like season 7 did lightsabers and Eobard ripping his face off and weird stuff like that. The show feels more childish. Todd, the showrunner for season 4 and 5, said he wanted to make a lighter tone since season 3 was so dark and depressing, and these last few seasons are a lot more childish and lighter than season 4. There are definitely some issues with season 4 and 5, but looking back, I will gladly take those seasons over whatever Eric has been doing. It still felt like The Flash, and sadly, very few episodes feel like The Flash in the last few seasons. Go back and rewatch the first five seasons, and you'll know what I'm talking about. If this final season sucks, I hope someone more competent can revive it in a few years and give us a better final season. It's wishful thinking, but maybe not impossible. I know a few shows that got revived years later for a final season to fix the original final season. Grant would be perfect with a bigger budget and a better script. Sorry for this long rant. I've been defending this show a lot, and I just recently started realizing that Eric Wallace has basically ruined the show, and I was only lying to myself because I didn't want to accept it. I still don't have faith he can end it well, so I'm going in with low expectations so I'm not disappointed if it's bad. I hope you have a good day :)
