Scream, is how I became a fan of horror movies. Well, actually it was Scream 2, yeah, I watched the sequel before I watched the first one. I wasn't allowed to watch horror movies at the time. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the closest thing to Horror I was allowed to watch and honestly my mom wasn't happy about me watching that. I wanted to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer, my mom wasn't sure about letting me watch it, so when we walked past Scream 2 on sale, I asked if we could get it and she said yes, to kind of test out if I could handle horror movies, I loved it, so then I watched I Know What You Did Last Summer and the first Scream movie. Although I ended up watching the first Scream movie when I was home alone and I got a phone call at the exact same time as Drew Barrymore, so that freaked me out a little. But I became a fan of Horror, largely the Scream type horror and I've really liked all the Scream movies, some more than others, but I did enjoy them all.

2023-08-24 10:27:21 +0000 UTCYeah, the movie wasn't scary really. There were some jumps that I think they projected a bit too much and the gore was minimal. It's funny too how there are so many Scary Movie's parodying the franchise, because Scream was intended as parody of horror movies in itself. But a bit more serious than Scary Movie. They do give a canon reason for Drew Barrymore's character being killed in one of the sequels I believe but the real reason was, Drew wanted her character to be killed in the opening scene. At the time, it was pretty shocking, because she was the most well known actor in the cast and was really big at the time. They promoted the movie heavily with her in the forefront, only to have her die right away. It looks like you had fun with this one. Who knows, this month might lead to some more variety in content going forward. Within reason of course.

2023-08-24 03:38:18 +0000 UTCThe scream franchise is a horror comedy franchise. Theres alot of comedy in these films that makes it much more fun. Its basically made to satire horror tropes and also sometimes do what they are making fun of. Its very clever most of the time because they subvert your expectations. This was also one of the first successful meta films i believe, it really changed horror in MAJOR ways after this.
