This episode was made for anime, not based on the manga’s story. Not bad as a refresher for the names and quirks of some of 1-A’s students one might forget about, but that’s about it. Technically by the rules of hero society that journalist could get in trouble for using his quirk without a hero license, but I’m sure it’s overlooked because they assume it’s just a piece of equipment, not a power.
