A Trust / Jaffa episode ....I was so much looking forward to this that I instead decided to edit other stuff first ...Good news I guess for The Walking Dead Season 1 .....DONE. ...Buuuuttt now I'm forced to watch this shit and am kinda wishing a zombie would show up and eat me alive ...looks around the room... SHIT. 4. Gerak is a fucking idiot... And any Jaffa that follow him are aswell... It's THANKS. to the Tau'ri (and perhaps a little help from the Tok'ra) that they are free from the Goa'uld ....I GET. that they have lived under the rule of the Goa'uld for thousands of years and are thus distrustful of anyone who isn't Jaffa and pose a threat when it comes to power ...But we have zero interest in ruling over them in any way ....How about some gratitude instead of attitude?! 5. You ask why Teal'c isn't in control of the Free Jaffa Council ....For obvious reasons ofcourse.. Being part of SG-1 is a full time job ...But my question is ....Where is Bra'tac?! ...He SHOULD. be on the council.. In fact he SHOULD be the leader 6. If you're thinking that this was the same café as the one from Threads (a.k.a. the Waffle House from Dead Like Me) ....The answer is no ...Absolutely NOT. the same café ..AT. ALL. 7. I have mixed feelings about Gerak using one of them Goa'uld torture sticks on a Goa'uld (Trust) prisoner ....Gerak IS. right ...Those things WERE often used on the Jaffa .....Some part of me finds it kinda funny that the roles are now reversed ....Buuuutttt then there's the part that thinks it's not humane ....I'm conflicted 8. Random comment ....But Amanda Tapping's got a bit of a curly hairdo going on ...And even though it's short ...I'm lowkey kinda digging the look .....I have spoken ...Moving on 9. Oooooooohhh.. Stargate ....They could've just as easily had recasted the actor in a new role ..You don't know! 10. This dude who was playing Solitaire on his company PC just had a Staff Weapon pointed at him... THEN. he heard a bunch of weapons fire going on in another part of the office after which the Jaffa who were threatening to kill him YOLO'd off towards the weapons fire .....Aaaaaannd... Mah dude just casually turns around with a confused look on his face??? He doesn't ....Oh I dunno... Decide to get the FUCK. outta dodge?!!? .....How committed is this guy to his work!?!? 11. Ba'al ....Buddy... Come on... You can't seriously be asking to be left alone ...To be asking for your freedom ....Dude ...That's not how this works ...You don't commit atrocities for thousands of years and then when your army gets defeated expect you can just live out your life in peace... ON. your enemies homeworld of all places!! .....In what kinda bizarro world would that be allowed to happen??? ...added right after pressing play again... Oh... Ok... You've hidden a naquadah bomb somewhere in the U.S. ..........Yeeeeaaaah.. Nah.. We're good 12. Mitchell: "I'm guessing those Jaffa aren't exactly kicking it at the local Denny's" ....You: "Maybe they are at Denny's.. Maybe they just want to enjoy the fearhole" ....Damn Froots... The difference was ...Daniel was wearing an SGC patch ...Carter was wearing an Earth symbol patch ...And Teal'c wasn't wearing SHIT. patch wise ......Mitchell just gave them all an SG-1 patch ...Symbolizing he just got the band back together ...Yeah I said it ...SUCK IT FROOTS! .....But also ....I feel like the band was already back together for several episodes ...Well AT. LEAST. since the previous episode where Carter came back and they head through the gate together 14. I very much doubt Carter is looking after Cassandra ...Ain't nobody got time for that ...But some acknowledgement of what's happened to her after Frasier died would be nice since as far as we're aware she doesn't have any family on Earth (nor on other planets for that matter since her actual family died on Hanna) ...Who IS. looking after her??? Or is she just old enough to look after herself now? 15. Little attention to detail while acting .....Carter gets beamed out of the van and over to the building in Seattle ....Carter is seen holding onto a handle inside the van before she beams out ....She appears inside the building and Amanda is mimicking how she was (sort of) standing while she was inside the van holding onto the handle .......Wasn't needed ...But Amanda went for the extra detail I guess ........Meanwhile.... Sheppard didn't fall flat on his ass when he got beamed out of his F-302 back in Atlantis 2x03 ...Amanda 1 - Joe 0 16. Yeeeeeaaaah... Someone HAD. to have seen that cargo ship flying over that building ....And for SURE. had to have seen an entire building disappearing in a blinding light 17. Aaaaaaand that's how Ba'al was able to appear in several places at once ...As in while Daniel saw Ba'al getting in a limo ...Ba'al was also holding a press conference across town ...Dude has clones ...Looks like we've got more than one Ba'al on the field 18. Yeah sure... A gasline explosion took out that entire building and left EVERYTHING. around it intact without so much as shattered windows or debris on the streets ....As far as cover-ups go ...This one is BAD. 19. True.. Ba'al is the more interesting villains when it comes to the Goa'uld ....Dude is more charismatic than any of the others and not as OVER THE TOP as the rest of them either ...Most of the time 20. And yeah.. VLC has a santa hat during chrimmus times ....That kinda makes up for the issues you have with the program doesn't it?

2023-12-26 06:43:16 +0000 UTCThe Jaffa are definitely being really annoying. Especially this Gerak fella who just became even more powerful now that the Jaffa believe he actually killed Ba'al. Without Earth they'd all literally still be slaves. Even in that flashback episode, where we learnt about Teal'c's backstory before joining SG-1, we saw people like Bra'tac, who knew they were false Gods at the time, still worship them because he thought the idea of the Jaffa one day revolting against an enemy so powerful was ridiculous. There was no free Jaffa movement before SG-1.

2023-12-22 19:33:37 +0000 UTCThis episode aired in the days before on-demand streaming television, where if you weren't home when an episode aired, you might not get the chance to see it again, and if you were a new viewer, you might not know certain things at all. So, yes, the Baal eyeflash was necessary. It let viewers who might not have seen the previous episodes he was in everything they needed to know about him in an instant. Also the Hactil councilwoman showed up in previous episodes as a minor member of that group. She just never got much focus until now.

2023-12-21 23:01:18 +0000 UTCAgreed, The Jaffa are annoying, I've thought that from season 1 though so my opinion probably doesn't count 🤣 With the immunity, what I meant was the rest of the team have been bouncing around the galaxy for years now, they've probably been exposed to all kinds of bugs and diseases as well as being host at one time or another to various symbiotes. Mitchell is brand new and vulnerable to any germ floating around, Mitchell, like those on the planet, were pretty isolated. I'm not saying that the rest of the team wouldn't be infected at all, I just think their defense against the dark arts magic is strong in them 🤣

2023-12-21 12:08:49 +0000 UTCThe difference of the patches were that Daniel & Sam had generic SGC patches since they weren't officially assigned to any specific team Ba'al is certainly one of the better Goa'uld (as a character) Smart enough to adapt, being a big time CEO he could still get the same power, control & attention all Goa'uld crave. If it were Apophis he would still be over dressed, not blend in & spouting about how he is an all powerful God & wouldn't make it 9 months on Earth undetected
