The writer of this episode actually regrets this particular episode. Both this one and another episode of one of the other Star Trek shows that he wrote.

That being said the overall execution of this story was just mediocre. While I didn't hate this episode, after I first watched it as Stargate fan I was more excited that Erick Avari was in it
