Too late for her to read this in episode, of course, but it should be noted that Chat GPT makes things up, and should never be used to get actual information. I did actual research in mine so I know a bit of this is true, but some of it might be false. Or it might all be true. But you shouldn't use it to answer these kinds of questions. Although if your purpose was merely to prank, I suppose it works fine for that.

> > > !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! < < < 1. It's ok Froots... You fuck up the pronunciation of the abbreviation "Imdb" all the time... But you don't fuck up nearly as much as Imbd fucks things up on their site 2. Yup... Definitely not my fault ...You getting letterboxes on the video ....That was aaaaallll you ...I don't half-ass it when it comes to my uploads ;) 3. Yeah it is kinda odd that this keeps happening ...Some actor/actress showing up in 2 separate shows in the same week ...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a triple appearance or even beter... Every single regular that entire week.. It'd be funny ..Y'know.. Provided you don't spoil yourself ofcourse 4. I figure that since present Daniel is a bit more aware of how the Ancients deal with their problems (as in.. they don't) in comparison to pre-ascension Daniel ...I find it IN. character for Daniel to make the argument to end Ice-man's life ....Knowing the Ancients won't do a damn thing against it and knowing there's not another Oma to take on Ice-man in an eternal 1v1 ...The best course of action WOULD. be to end him before he becomes a threat... There was an interview Michael Shanks did some time around the time he came back to the show in Season 7 where he said something like: "Daniel has become more wise after he came back ....He's starting to realise that you can't really count on a higher power (The Ancients) to save the day" ....It's probably also why in 9x03 he confessed to O'neill that with The Ori threat.. This was the first time he was actually afraid 5. I feel though that this whole "Son Of Anubis" story comes a bit too late ....Ok ...Cool... He's a super-evolved human with superpowers ...Awesome ....But there's no fucking way he'd be ruling ANYTHING. with the threat of an Ori invasion looming ...I highly fucking doubt The Ori are willing to share the galaxy with another "god" ....In fact compared to The Ori ....Ice-man is nothing to them ...Sure he might be intimidating with his powers ...But The Ori are so MUCH. MORE. powerful ...They could wipe Ice-man from existence with a single thought ....So yeah... This episode could've worked better had it taken place in Season 8 6. So I'm not gonna add to the explanations about the Robert/Bob/Dick/Richard ....But... On a related note ...I find it kinda funny that on Supernatural we had Bobby Singer ...Who'se full name was Robert Steven Singer ...Bobby being his nickname .....And on The Boys we had Robert Singer ..Played by the very same actor and the show made by the very same dude ...Is The Boys set in the SPNverse??? Cause if so we've got some tags to add 7. Nice job Detective... You figured out the program sending them to another planet would come into play when Ice-man would dial out ....It's not often you actually call it out before it happens.. You're always a bit worried it'll sound like you've already seen a show.. Which ofcourse you haven't... BUT... It CAN. also make you sound smart ....Which is a rare occurence ...smirk... 8. But you did question the point of the program diverting a wormhole somewhere else ....The point was it was a security measure ....It would make it impossible for anyone to dial to the planet with the security measure in place unless they knew how to circumvent it ....A neat little trick the SGC could add to our gate ...Ofcourse we're not gonna do that ...Cause that'd be smart 9. Earlier in the episode... Mitchell: "I shot him point blank" Lam: "And he appears to be healing" Mitchell: "I should have emptied the clip"... You questioned why Ice-man wouldn't just get up again .....Welp... Both Mitchell AND. Daniel emptied their clips this time instead of just 3 bullets ....THAT'S why he's not getting up this time ...To be fair I do think there's a very low possibility he COULD. heal from all that... In which case I would say drop him off at the nearest black hole or something.. Y'know.. Just to be sure he stays dead 10. Aaaaaand Ice-man falls off-camera... Into a spot behind the gate ....Poor cat

We are told in this episode that this Ancient DNA sequencer device looks like the same one found and used by the Goa'uld Nirrti just before she was killed. When Jonas was captured back in the beginning of season 7, Anubis used that Ancient mind probe device he used on Thor on Jonas in order to download all of Jonas's knowledge. From that knowledge, Anubis would of learned about, not only Nirrti's experiments with this DNA sequencer, but also all of her other experiments from the previous 6 seasons in her attempt to create the perfect advanced human host starting all the way back in season 1 from Cassandra's home planet. We actually know for a fact Anubis learnt about Nirrti's experiment and was also interested in advanced humans at that time because when one of Anubis's Goa'uld scientists asked Anubis why are we keeping Jonas alive if we have already learned everything from him, Anubis's response was "His physiology merits further experimentation" referring to the fact that Jonas was more advanced than a regular human which Anubis only found out because when Nirrti examined Jonas's DNA through the Ancient DNA sequencer, she told Jonas. So Anubis either continued Nirrti's research with the DNA sequencer or was also conducting similar research at the time. The results of which we finally saw in this episode.

Dr Lam says that, based on the information that we have received about the Ancients from the Atlantis database, Anubis's son's physiology is very similar to that of a living Ancient just prior to their Ascension. This makes me think, does this mean the Ancients also had all these powers when they were humans? The only example we can reference is Ayiana back in Antarctica. Although she didn't stick around very long, we did see her have the ability to heal herself and others. She also displayed enhanced intelligence by picking up on the English language pretty quickly. Keeping in mind that her memory was completely gone, it's possible she may have had other abilities similar to Anubis's son.

Daniel

One of my favorite post-browder episodes. The guy they have playing Khalek just **owns** that role.

Not me coming to the comments to say something about Richard -> Dick, William -> Bill and Robert -> Bob and seeing multiple essays here on the subject… that’ll teach you to ask questions i guess

The origin of "Dick" as a nickname for "Richard" is an interesting linguistic evolution. It dates back to the medieval period when the name "Richard" became a popular given name. During that time, there was a common naming practice in England known as "rhyming slang" or "diminutive suffixes," where familiar names were playfully altered or shortened for convenience or affectionate purposes. In this case, the nickname "Rick" or "Rich" was commonly used for "Richard." Over time, the suffix "-kin" or "-ke" was added to create variants such as "Rickin" or "Rickle." Then, through a process known as "rhyming slang," these diminutive forms underwent further linguistic transformation. "Rickin" gradually became "Dickon," and "Rickle" morphed into "Dicken." Eventually, "Dickon" and "Dicken" were shortened to simply "Dick," which has persisted over the centuries as a nickname for "Richard." It's worth noting that language and naming practices can evolve in unpredictable ways over time, and not all nicknames have obvious or straightforward origins. In the case of "Richard" and its nickname "Dick," linguistic shifts, rhyming slang, and historical usage have contributed to the development of this particular nickname. --- that was courtesy of ChatGPT which I cut and pasted just so you'd have to read it. Bet you're missing the snarky comments right about now:)

"How does this keep happening?" you exasperate. That is the exact same question I asked you just last week. I believe it is our brain's ability to make patterns out of chaos combined with the sheer amount of media both of us consume compounded by the number of actors, themes and other factors involved. I think it would be more startling if there weren't coincidences.

I looked it up and both Dick for Richard and Bill for William are a result of rhyming slang, which comes mostly from London. Basically you replace a word with another word or a phrase that rhymes with it. So Rick becomes Dick and Will becomes Bill. Most of them are regional, but these have spread to have wider meaning. Another example is the phrase "blow a raspberry." The noise sounds like a fart. Fart rhymes with raspberry tart, which was shortened to just raspberry. Probably more than you actually wanted to know about the subject, but there you go.

It's always been my fan theory that this is how Anubis ascended the 1st time. I believe he came across this machine but didn't know enough about ascension to evolve a clone to that level. We never learned how Anubis tricked Oma De Sala so I believe he probably made a Human/Goa'uld hybrid 1,000 years ago, that hybrid is the one who went to Oma posing as a human. While not all knowing, an ascended being would still be able to easy tell if a human has a Goa'uld symbiote inside it, the clone wouldn't have one & therefore could trick her The original Anubis would've carried on, did his "unspeakble crimes" and the system lords he original Anubis host & symbiote got killed & that's why the System lords & Tok'Ra be lived him to be dead, unaware that a clone was created After Ascending & being forced back part way Anubis would have more understanding of the universe, ascension & the machine & could start over making another clone & evolving it to the point it could ascend on it's own, trying to cheat the system again
