Too late for the reading, but it is lying. The only reference I could find to this was the SG1 episode.

> > > !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! < < < 1. Look at you Froots... Getting one upped by someone in the comment section who is clearly using A.I. to give a wall of text explaining what the outback is and you're like "I don't know about that" ..As IF. YOU. know better ....The hubris... The HUBRIS.!!! of the girl who keeps claiming the Australian educational system sucks ....Yeah soz Froots ...But I'm gonna have to side with the A.I. on this one 2. YES! ...I FULLY. agree that one of the alternate SG-1 should have had an Asgard on the team ...Hell... Just put one on the team NOW. ..But also... Perhaps an Atlantis team member ....Maybe Ronon would for some reason be part of one of the alternate SG-1's 3. I gotta admit.. "The land down under" doesn't sound quite right ...In my mind I'm thinking about people having to drill down into the Earth and there's some area deep beneath the surface that's brimming with dinosaurs and shiny looking plants ...NOT. quite what I'm assuming Australia looks like ...But THAT. is what comes to mind when someone mentions "The land down under" ..Some Jules Verne Journey To The Center Of The Earth type shit 4. Talking about Martouf and his teeth you wondered if YOU. should get veneers.. DON'T get veneers Froots... Your teeth look great the way they are ...Don't ruin that smile 5. No... He's not gonna have to cut anything ...The whole "When the time comes, cut the green one" was nothing more than just a quick jab to make OUR Mitchell wonder for the rest of his life what the hell that meant ...Like I said ...A final middle finger from Evil Mitchell 6. Yup... That female Jaffa's name has always been Ka'lel ...A fact that has been pointed out to you every time she showed up ...Your attempts at making Superman jokes came in too late Froots ...She's been guest starring since Season 7.. This being her 6th appearance ...Some people are probably facepalming right now.. You doof 7. Ba'al to Teal'c: "We're smart enough to know we're not actually gods" .....You wanna speak up a little mah dude?? I don't think the idiot Jaffa guards down the hall heard you 8. I don't remember this episode ...Maybe vaguelly?? ...But this pudgy Jaffa guy just told Bra'tac and Daniel to leave after he was unable to remember the things he did and all I can think of is ....This better not end up with him offing himself due to his brainwashing telling him to if he'd be found out cause that'd be too obvious .....The fact that Bra'tac and Daniel just up and left to give him some time ....Stupid move ....Also yeah you're right ...Teal'c has been kidnapped ...We don't have time to waste on waiting for this guy to piece his memories back together ...added later... Me with stoic face.. Oh look... He killed himself ...Wow.. I didn't see that coming at all 9. Yeah this whole episode is an absolute snorefest ....I don't care about the politics of the Jaffa ....And this friend of Mitchell... His tumor COULD. be healed in several different ways... Like you said we could beam it out ...We could put the guy through a one-time-only-use of a sarcophagus ...We're just watching a guy slowly die while the technology IS. there to save him ...All in an attempt to give Mitchell some sad backstory ....UGH.. I'm gonna have to watch this shit again soon to edit it 10. Ok this is pretty fucked up... Mitchell bring a piece of alien equipment to the hospital to... What?? ....Show his dying buddy all the things he's missing out on?? ....Show him that there's a big conspiracy going on involving super advanced tech that CAN. save his life???? ......Man... Mitchell is SUCH. a good friend isn't he?? 11. And now he's just leaving the dude behind.. In the hospital... With some alien tech ...Letting the guy just push random buttons on his own ...With yeah... NO. way of pushing the stop button or anything ....This was lame ....And also.. This guy CLEARLY. doesn't want to live cause I'm fairly certain almost anyone in his position would ask for help for a cure so they could keep living 12. Yip... Teal'c has been through this shit before ...It's pretty safe to assume the brainwashing didn't stick ...Him being ordered to kill Bra'tac ...Pfffftt.. AS. IF. 13. Also yeah ...These Jaffa and the Tau'ri and in a big fight ...Those 2 Jaffa guys just trapped Mitchell ...Why are they not instantly killing him??? ...They could get ambushed from behind ...And I'm also pretty sure the ship is leaving ..They don't have time to just stand around ....This whole episode is just weird ...added later... Aaaaaand they got shot from behind ...Dumbasses 14. Ah ok... Mitchell's friend already died ...I wonder if he died from a brain aneurysm cause he couldn't shut off that alien device messing with his head 15. Teal'c: "To resist the influence of others, knowledge of oneself is important" .....Words to live by ...Froots ...You little pushover 16. Yeah this episode SUCKED. ...NEXT!

I know that, on record, Mitchell is technically the leader of SG-1. However, one thing I do appreciate about the new team dynamic is that it doesn't really feel that way. It feels more like a collaborative effort between Carter and Mitchell. From the way Carter speaks to Mitchell, both on and off duty, there isn't much of a power dynamic like there was with O'Neill, where she was always ending every sentence with 'sir'. Carter even led the rescue team that saved Teal'c. For example, during the rescue mission, Mitchell wanted to board the mothership holding Teal'c. Carter warns against it because there's a chance he could get stuck there. Despite this, Carter tells Mitchell to board the mothership anyway and that her and Daniel will cover him. Then when Mitchell asks, "Are you sure about that?" Carter responds with, "Am I gonna be able to stop you?" You could feel the vibe between them here was definitely more even. You wouldn't see this type of back and forth with O'Neill and Carter. When O'Neill tells Carter to jump, Carter asks how high? Now... I'm sure this dynamic is mostly due to the fact that both Carter and Mitchell are of the same military rank but I think it goes a little beyond that. Mitchell understands that Carter is more experienced and that she probably deserves the position of leader of SG-1 more than him which is why he doesn't boss her around. We actually kinda saw this in the first episode of the season when Mitchell is first introduced. When Mitchell was trying to convince Sam to rejoin SG-1, we hear him become vulnerable and admit "what if the world needs saving because I screwed up cause you weren't here in the first place" highlighting Sam's superior skill set and perhaps even some insecurity on Mitchell's end. Ultimately, Mitchell respects Sam and the OG team's opinion more than his own.

Daniel

I know it has been established that Ba'al has multiple clones now but I wonder if the one that got killed in this episode was the OG one or just a clone.

Daniel

Judging by the fact that we now have that memory manipulation device, I guess this means we did end up becoming official allies with the people from 9x12 despite them covering up the murder of the scientist that actually perfected that tech? I guess it's not suprising. While SG-1, and perhaps Landry, didn't like them, ultimately big decisions like who we sign treaties with is not up to them. It is up to the higher ups. We have seen higher ups from the Pentagon and the government get involved when it comes to signing treaties in the past. I can imagine people from a foreign planet covering up a murder was not a good enough reason to sever ties and lose access to this technology.

Daniel

And FYI Shan. There is a warning label on that toilet gel. "WARNING: DANGER: CORROSIVE: Causes skin burns. Do not get in eyes, on SKIN."

You did it again Shan. Although less obvious this time. For the first time in over a year I get from the store orange soda last week. I decide to get a bottle to drink while I watch your SG1 reaction and what are you drinking? Pepsi? Nope, orange soda! When Mitchell and Ferguson are playing video games, there is a pizza box from "DeLuise and Son Pizzeria" with a picture of episode director Peter DeLuise and his father Dom DeLuise. 100% right Shan on Mitchel leaving the memory device with his friend to operate by himself. 1. It’s a HIGHLY classified piece of equipment left with someone that doesn’t have clearance and could die (leaving it unguarded) at any minute. 2. While he is using it, he is in your memory, how the hell is he going to turn it off, or rewind it? The connection between the 2 storylines is that Mitchell blamed himself for his friend dying because his friend was injured saving his life. But as his friend told him, it wasn’t Mitchell’s fault, the friend was just doing his job. Mitchell says the same to Teal’c. He was doing his job when he saved him and Bra’tak. He says this to tell Teal’c he doesn’t owe him anything. He was just doing his job. But it is the same message either way. It doesn’t matter if the outcome is good or bad, it’s part of their duty to try and save one another. There is no blame just as there is no debt. Not a big connection, but it’s there.

Patrick - Excelsior

You misunderstood Shan. She isn't Kal'El .... She's Ka'lel .... 😝

Patrick - Excelsior

"You make now make fun of me" Shannanigans says after pulling out a supposedly toilet cleaning marital aid. Consider this me making fun of you... Also even if it does clean toilets it looks nothing like the device on the screen. Just my $0.04

Ok, so now we're getting into episodes I haven't seen. I originally watched the first few seasons with you for the first time and decided to watch this and Atlantis on my own and rewatch with you whenever you react to it, and it got up to the last Atlantis episode with the Gould infiltrating Atlantis. I was like 10 minutes into the episode, but my anxiety started getting really bad for a while, and I had to quit watching. I just never got back to the show, but I still continued your reactions. Now I'm watching with you again for the first time lol. I know I just went on a lot of rambling and you probably don't care. Now let's get into the episode. Yeah, if I'm being honest, I didn't like this episode that much. I really liked the Mitchell story though.

James

GPT, so it may be lying The quote "When the time comes, cut the green one" is from the movie "The Italian Job" (2003), wherein a character speaks these words for a clever variation of the typical wire-cutting bomb-defusing scene.

Only 17 minutes into the comments (halfway?) The reason that cascade effect did not apply here was addressed. I didn't quite catch it and didn't care enough to go back but there was a line that ended "and that's why the cascade effect doesn't apply." also I like to think that the Carter that obviously wasn't Carter was actually some alternate form of Dr. Katherine Langford. Perhaps one where she got infected with the anti aging nanites from that planet we never went to in our reality.

I've worn eyeglasses since I was a child back in the age of the dinosaurs. And eventually in the new century contact lens technology got to the level then it could correct even my astigmatism. And you know what I discovered? I hate sticking contact lenses in my eyes. So some days I wear them and some days I wear eyeglasses. And in my mind that's Daniel's canon too. ( yes it's a new week and I'm still commenting on comments- deal with it.)

Topher 😃

We have those toilet thingies in the UK too! Never considered it myself, but you're right, damn.

Sir Jimmothy

Jumping back to Ripple Effect, they did address the issue of so many SG-1's there. Dr. Lee said he believed that all of the SG-1's were from realities nearly identical to their own, that's why they all looked & acted similar & avoided entropic cascade failure that the season 3 Dr. Carter experienced It was a quick & easy way (possibly lazy) to explain why all the SG-1's looked the same aside from costume changes & to avoid dealing with the cascade failure that the other teams should dealt with
