"The straw that broke the camel's back" is from an old Arabic proverb about how a camel was loaded beyond it's capacity to move or stand ...An alternative version to this saying dates back to the 1700's "Tis the last feather that breaks the horse's back" ...But it all just comes down to meaning that a small and seemingly insignificant addition to a burden renders it too much to bear .....So yeah... The bugs coming out of the guys mouth were a lot.... But then the guy getting eaten alive outside was just too much 3. Ah yes... The episode where we start with Carter working on a device that was found in Merlin's cave ....A cave we went to in 9x01 ...Yet only NOW. do we find out there was some or of device there and that she's been working on it for 6 months ....I feel like we could've had this come into play a bit earlier in the season so that maybe we'd be doing something with the information the device contains THROUGHOUT. the season 4. Mitchell and Carter are walking through the hallway after they just went out of phase ...There's a soldier walking in their direction who should NOT. be able to see them ...Yet for the briefest of moments when Mitchell and Carter pass him ...He slightly steps out of the way so Carter can pass by ...added right after... Aaaaand then another soldier lowkey makes a similar move to avoid running into Mitchell ....These soldiers SHOULD. just be walking THROUGH. them ......Whoops ....Thought I wouldn't notice ...But I did 5. Yeah it wasn't until they said Crystal Skull that I clued onto what Carter was on about when she said Daniel went through a similar thing ....Back when we found out Daniel had an opa who saw giant aliens and he apparently was the only one who could see Daniel after he had looked at a crystal skull on some other planet .......We never revisited those aliens nor Daniels opa 6. I feel like we've had Tretonin for quite a while now that the Jaffa SHOULDN'T be dependent on symbiotes anymore ....The Sodan basically got wiped out cause apparently they didn't get the memo?? ....If they'd been on Tretonin then they might have been less easy to kill 7. Bill... You're a fucking genius ....How come we've gone almost 9 full seasons and we haven't had a "Honey I shrunk the kids" episode yet?? ....I mean... He's wrong ...But that's a genius idea ...It'd be funny to watch 8. You: "Remember when invisibility was like a big deal? Just saying" ....Yeah.. Remember when we first met the Sodan? ....How come we're supposedly on good terms with these people and yet we DON'T possess that very valuable piece of tech that turns you invisible? ...And considering how this episode ends with the Sodan basically being wiped out ....How's about we just take a bunch of those devices with us? ...You can be damn sure if this were me I'd be going home with some good loot 9. You: "Am I just missing something ...Why can't they use the stargate" ....Yup.. You're definitely missing something... They legit JUST. said that going back to the gate would take months on foot and in a previous scene Teal'c said the crystal in the obelisk was missing ..The obelisk that teleports a person from a location close to the gate to the location close to the Sodan village .....I guess you were zoning out Froots 10. Daniel is a smart guy ...For a moment I was worried they'd be typing out the words that were on the display but Daniel was smart enough to keep it to a Yes and No button choice .....Although technically they COULD. have already screwed themselves by assigning 2 random buttons to Yes and No but I guess they got lucky ....Or more accurately ....TV show was TV showing 11. Well the episode is gonna have Mitchell's plan seem to work out ....But in reality Mitchell was being an idiot for going to the Sodan planet ....He was invisible and unable to interact with anything ...There'd be nothing he could do to help Teal'c ...The fact that Teal'c was able to see him while he was using the cloak was just luck ....Mitchell got lucky.. That's all 12. I just had the most random thought pop up in my head .....What if Mitchell or Carter needed to go to the bathroom while they were out of phase?? ...What if they really needed to poop??? Can't touch anything so wiping your ass with toilet paper is out of the question and I'm assuming that whatever you "leave behind" is ALSO. out of phase ....Sooooo... If they needed to go real bad ...Couldn't hold it in ....Pooped ....And then couldn't wipe nor flush it away ....There'd be an invisible brown nugget in the toilet for the rest of eternity cause it'd be outside the range of the device to turn it back AND. they'd be having a mad itch on their smelly ass for the rest of this episode cause they couldn't wipe ........Like I said ...Most random thought ...Moving on 13. Ok... Maybe we shouldn't let Bill near any of the Ancient devices anymore ...Dude is a menace... A funny one but still ...Luckily it's Daniel who is now stuck out of phase and our boy can read Ancient like no other 14. Interesting how Merlin was working on a weapon that could kill The Ori (Or well... Ascended beings in general) .....And he was doing it by phasing to a different dimension ...You'd THINK. that ascended beings would be able to see all dimensions ...Buuuuuttt I guess not ....Merlin you sneaky old bastard! 15. Soldier One about the Sodan guy: "We just plant 2 tripwires and blow him up" ...Soldier Two: "Piece of cake.. While we're at it why don't we just teach him to speak Japanese" ...Teal'c: "I will do it" ....Me looking back to my screen cause I was distracted: "Teal'c speaks Japanese??" 16. Teal'c ...Mah dude ....Mitchell shows up in front of you and THIS. is how you react??? Last thing you know he was missing ...I think Teal'c has seen it ALL. .....Dude just wasn't phased ...hehe... Get it ...Phased.. Cause they're out of pha... I'll stop (no I won't) 17. DAMN!! Teal'c didn't think twice about smacking Mitchell in the face with that P90! 18. And no... You just asked if they can't just give Mitchell, Carter and Daniel the Sodan bracelets to bring them back ....Since Teal'c just tried to bitchslap Mitchell with a P90 and phased right through him ...It means Teal'c and anyone else who is still normal wouldn't be able to give Mitchell and them any objects and Mitchell and them can't interact with objects neither so your idea wouldn't work .......But what I wanna know is ...How was Mitchell able to go through the gate and even though THAT. worked ...Why did the obelisk also teleport Mitchell to the Sodan village? ...The gate and obelisk can just sense things that aren't really there? I feel like someone should have noticed an extra person going through the gate and an seeing movement of some sort next to the obelisk before and after transport ...But again... TV show was TV showing 19. Oh ok ....There goes my poop question ...Daniel just fixed the device and Mitchell ALSO. popped back into our dimension while he was on the other planet ....I guess all of a sudden Merlin's device has unlimited range? ....Which begs the question ...Why were Carter and Mitchell the only ones who were affected by the device?? ....How did the range all of a sudden increase to an insane level?? 20. Yeeeeaaah... This was a good episode ....Things are improving Froots.. WOOP WOOP!

2024-03-26 04:05:24 +0000 UTCYou asked why Teal'c and the team were stuck on the Sodan homeworld and couldn't just leave via the Stargate. The Sodan's village is isolated in a remote part of the planet very far away from the Stargate. The Ancient transporter or "Eye of the Gods" as Teal'c was calling it, is the only practical way to get from the village to the Stargate and vice versa. Without it, it would take months to travel between the gate and the village. It has even been stated that people have died when trying to make the journey by foot due to the difficult terrain. So they needed the control crystal to make the transporter functional again. This is one of the reasons why the Sodan have been able to live in secrecy from the Goa'uld for so long. There is no civilisation near the Stargate so anyone visiting the planet wouldn't find anything interesting and just leave. Not that any of this matters as the Sodan are basically all dead now. RIP.

2024-03-21 15:33:47 +0000 UTCThe phrase "the straw that broke the camel's back" is like saying there's this one tiny, almost laughable thing that suddenly makes everything go kaboom. Imagine a camel, right? It's already carrying a ton of stuff, but then you put just one more straw on it, and bam, that's the last straw—literally. It's all about how these little things pile up until even the smallest addition is enough to cause a big disaster. It's like when you're juggling a million tasks, and then someone asks you to do just one more tiny thing, and you just lose it. That's what this saying is getting at.
