Cobra Kai S02E02 - Back In Black FULL REACTION

The last picture on the wall is of Chojun Miyagi; the direct inspiration for the character of Mr Miyagi. Chojun was the founder of Goju Ryu; the style of karate used in the original trilogy. This is also the most popular form of karate in Okinawa, where Mr Miyagi is from.

First of all, glad to see this show on the regular schedule, so thanks! It does seem weird to me how Johnny all of a sudden flipped and let Kreese stick around. Of course, the plot needs him to but in universe, he just gave Kreese the speech about how he was manipulated back then and it's no different now but the difference is, he's not a stupid kid anymore. But nope, Kreese shows a little vulnerability and is about to walk away when Johnny says wait, hold up a second. I guess he can still be played after all. I like the fact that Daniel learned not just how to do karate but how to teach a bit like Miyagi. He saw a tire wheel in the shop and got an idea how to teach Sam and Robby the balancing technique. That's straight out of Miyagi's playbook. Looking forward to the next batch of eps!

It’s so just interesting dynamic with Kreese trying to be the teacher again & then Johnny being a sensei to his students & then Daniel making his own dojo to combat Cobra Kai , if Johnny and Daniel just talked tho I feel that’d solve some stuff like Miguel and Sam have to talk

I don't always love Johnny's teaching methods with the dogs last season and now the cement trucks, I don't really feel like endangering your students is a great training method. I feel bad for Robby not really having any parents that were there for him. I get Daniel being shocked by Kreese being there, I get that it will bring back some really negative emotions and memories, I even get that he would consider it dangerous and unsafe to have Robby around Kreese, but he still should have told Johnny about Robby. When Sam and Robby and the balance board training was being filmed a hurricane had just come through and it was freezing, so the water was very cold, they decided to have them wear wetsuits under there clothes to try to keep them warm, but in order to hide the suits they had to cut them, so they just ended up trapping all the cold water inside the suits making it even worse. Kreese is the worst, but he is a good villain and this show has a way of making characters feel more fully realized and a little more real than 80's movies had a tendency to do, so I kind of like that he's here.

This episode was the 366th ASR release this year. Challenge won!

Zoot!

I really like Kreese, he makes a really good villain. Hes so good at making us hate him i cant help but love him. Its kind of funny but we probably saw him in these 2 episodes more than the entire movie franchise. And so far i like him much better in the show.
