I feel like you judging the charmed reboot was kind of warranted because it just wasn’t good. I would have been all for it if it was good. Although I really did enjoy the last season of the charmed reboot. This show is one of the better reboots and it feels like its own thing

>>> !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! <<<
1. So I'mma just clear this right now ...The actress playing Liz ...She's pretty as FUCK.! ...added later... Maria is also quite cute ...Oh and in case you were wondering cause you seem to think I have a thing about blondes ...Isobel ...NOT. doing it for me.. Like... AT. ALL. ....Holey moley ...NOPE.
2. Yip... Liz's last name was actually Ortecho in the books ...There's a bunch of stuff apparently that this show gets right which the other show got wrong
3. Seeing Jackson pop up on The Originals was weird as hell ...I knew him from THIS. show before he showed up on The Originals ...Also... I was posting notes for The Originals on Discord a long while ago... One of my notes was something along the lines of "Ooooh it's Max from Roswell!" when Jackson showed up and I believe it was Peggin who told me I wasn't allowed to say things like that ....I remember this cause it was the last time I openly put something in the notes about how I knew an actor/actress from another show and understood this was a spoiler given that I was talking about a show you considered watching some day
4. The intro actually kinda reminds me of the intro of Legacies ...Short and to the point ...I also like the effects on it and the alien-ish kinda colours used on the font ...But ..Sadly gone are the days when we had full intros I guess
5. Yip... That was nail polish remover ...Apparently on the OG show the aliens used tabasco sauce (BARELY. EVER. SHOWN.) if they felt sick in an effort to get better ....On this show it's changed to nail polish remover ....For SOME. reason... The use of tabasco sauce was off limits for this show and they had to change it to something else ...The creator of this show was trying to come up with something saying "What's the weirdest thing that's readily available and I could imagine people drinking" she looked around her room and saw nail polish remover. ....And they actually use it on this show ...I CAN'T for the life of me remember them ever using tabasco sauce on the other show
6. Given we're well familiar with the characters that will more than likely be regulars on this show ...I can safely say this next thing without it being an expectation spoiler ....Michael is my favourite character ...I can definitely relate to his character ...Minus the whole being gay or bi-sexual bit ...But everything else ...Not listening to authority ..Doing whatever the hell he wants to do... And a list of other qualities that makes him a guy you'd rather want ON. your side than to be against ...Yip ...Me.
7. Funny... Michael appears to be locked up in the drunktank at the police station and Max comes in to lecture him ....Moment later mah dude just casually opens the door to his own cell ...I love that he was just able to nope out of there whenever he wanted to but still had at least some amount of respect to stick to the rules ...I'm not sure how to describe that character trait ..But I admire it ....It reminds me of that scene in Man Of Steel where Superman let's the military arrest him and put him in handcuffs ...They have the power to resist but they choose not to ...I dunno what it is ..But I liked that scene
8. Another one... It was really weird to see the actor playing Kyle on this show and kinda like him here but to find his character on The Vampire Diaries to be incredibly annoying ...So conflicting ...I guess the actor has some range?
9. Yip... Another actor who I saw on another show and ofcourse due to what I've said before wasn't allowed to talk about ...I saw Alex on THIS. show around the same time I saw him on the Charmed Reboot ...He was on an episode of Season 1 ...I had to keep my mouth shut but at some point while in voice chat you were swooning over actors for some reason and mentioned a guy who showed up on a Charmed Reboot episode you watched a little while before that and we figured out it was THIS. guy ...Now you get to see where I know him from ...This'll be fun
10. Froots.. You wondered why these girls (including Liz's sister) didn't have proper tombstones ...I'mma hazard a guess they don't do this kinda thing in Australia ...But people sometimes put up crosses or any other type of things at the place teens lost their lives as a memorial to them.. I dunno I feel they usually only do it for younger people ...I remember they did it at the place where my ex-bestie died ...That doesn't mean they don't have a proper burial place somewhere else ...There were no proper tombstones there cause THAT. is NOT. where they're buried ....Or cremated ...Unless they burned to death in that car accident ..But that's besides the point
11. Max and Liz are connected cause of the handprint and he shows her his memories of when they first met ...It ends with them almost going in for a kiss ...But Max knows that Liz isn't in her right mind right now ...That she's only "feeling" the way she does cause of the effect the handprint has on her ....I like the fact Max is honest about this and tells her ...Some scummy dudes would've used that as an opportunity ...But it shows Max is actually a decent guy ...added later... Aside from perhaps hiding something he knows about Liz's sister
12. Yip.. It's definitely a different feel from the other show and definitely feels new... Aside from a few tiny little things that I just find comically hilariously bad (So... In a fun way.. And well worth making jokes about) ...I DO. think this show is actually pretty good... I watched it to the end and NEVER. felt that I HAD. to watch it till the end for the sake of completion (Like I did with The 100 for example) ...And I'm glad you didn't nitpick the shit out of things ...Cause that would just make it annoyingly unbearable to watch/edit ...I'm glad you're approaching it with an open mind ...Keep doing that

I watched this show when it aired live and enjoyed it. Although I had never watched Roswell and typically dislike watching things out of order, I still watched this show and didn't watch Roswell until seeing your reactions, which I enjoyed a lot. I'm looking forward to you reacting to the show. Having now watched Roswell, I can appreciate the details I missed the first time around.

I liked this show more than I liked the original, so I'm excited for your reactions to this. Hopefully you'll enjoy it since I'm really only watching your reactions to TWD and Grey's Anatomy right now.

Idk if you noticed but the actor who plays Max also played Jackson, the leader of the New Orleans Werewolves on The Originals seasons 1-3 Overall, love the casting. I'll be honest. At first, I was a little hesitant when they made Michael and Alex a romantic thing because I loved Michael and Maria in the original. However, I will say it definitely grew on me. I overall like this version better than the original. Imo it has better acting, better writing and I like that it's more adult. Really hope you will enjoy the first season, as I did and still do. Unfortunately not many people react to this show so watching a reaction to it is a new experience for me. So excited to watch you through this journey.

I put off watching this show for awhile, because I didn't like the Charmed reboot and I didn't really want more reboots of shows I loved. But I'm glad I did end up giving it a shot.
I liked the episode, I thought the characters were interesting, the acting is great so far, I like that their adults already and were not doing the high school thing again.
I was already a fan of the lead actress Jeanine Mason, because I saw her on So You Think You Can Dance and I was rooting for her to win her season, I also saw her on a show I loved called Bunheads, which Max(Nathan Parsons) was also on.
I had no problem with Michael and Alex, I loved Michael and Maria on the original series, but we don't need to do everything from the original all over again, we can and hopefully will do different things.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Good reaction.
Regarding the crosses, they were not marking graves. Not sure if it is done where you live, but in the US crosses/markers are placed on side of road where fatal crashes occur.

Okay, writing this before I watch the reaction. I hope you like it! (You did! I'm glad you liked it.)
So yeah, you figured it out—they gave Liz her original last name from the book. She was Latina in the books, and she also had a sister named Rose. I haven't even read any of the books; I just looked it up. It's interesting to see the differences.
Fun fact: this episode was directed by Julie Plec!
The nail polish remover is a replacement for hot sauce because the original show invented that rule, and this show doesn't have the rights to the original show. The creator said she wanted it to be something common around the house that wouldn’t look suspicious if you had it. She looked around and found nail polish remover, she thought it was a great thing to use. What do you think of it?
As I mentioned in the series finale reaction of Roswell, the first episode of the original series was really the only episode based on the books, and that's true for this show too. The main structure of the show and small elements might come out, but the actual storyline—only the pilot is based directly on the books.
You are comparing the shows, but you aren't judging the new show based on the comparisons. You are still open-minded and excited to notice the similarities and differences, which I think is fun.
Yeah, it's nice how Michael and Max have facial hair, and Michael even showed body hair when he took off his shirt. They usually have male actors shave everything smooth.
One of my favorite scenes has to be when Liz goes to the cross and sees Rosa’s is knocked over. The song playing while Liz is crying and trying to get it back into the ground was very powerful and real. It made me tear up, and I barely cry during TV shows.
Even though this came around the same time as the Charmed reboot, I do think this has much stronger writing overall. Even by this episode, you can tell. There are still some iffy lines of dialogue, but it's still good. I actually liked season 1 of the Charmed reboot; it was campy fun and reminded me of the later Charmed seasons. Season 3 was absolute shit though. But you didn't start liking it until season 4 when it started getting really good. And with them going to the Halliwell manor, it's a crime not to renew it, lol.
Ahh, Michael and Alex. I do have to say I am not mad about it. You should have seen Twitter when it was airing—people were brutal about making Michael "gay." I liked what I've seen so far of them. I'm interested to see if it goes any further. They obviously have a lot of history.
Yes, the story of what really happened to Rosa is what really hooked me when I watched for the first time. I like how this show seems to go a more serialized route. Any theories you have about it? Max and Isobel are hiding something. What could it be? 🤔
If I'm comparing just this episode to the original first episode, I think this one is better. But as for the overall show? We will just have to wait and see if the show can make us fall in love with it just as much.
This was a great first episode. I think all the actors so far have great chemistry. The tone was great; I think it kept some of the fun, campy writing from the original too. It's sad how overlooked it is because fans of the original hated the new show, just like with the Charmed reboot.
I'm glad you liked it. Can't wait for the next episode, which will only be in a couple of minutes by the time you read this.
