Update on the situation
Added 2022-02-24 17:58:33 +0000 UTCAs some of you may have noticed, my Pixiv account was automatically suspended earlier today due to an excess of user reports. For the time being, Fanbox still appears to be working, but I can no longer send messages or interact with fans. I have submitted a support inquiry to Pixiv and requested they reinstate my account. My work uses a combination of 3D rendering, AI face enhancement (e.g. FaceApp and others) and digital painting - in the vein of other popular Pixiv artists like SabineHeinrich. While the results can look very realistic, a close inspection of any image will reveal that it is not, indeed a photo. Furthermore, when I do face enhancement, I either run the algorithm over the original rendered face to add neural details, or in some cases I will use a "GAN-generated" image like you'd find on thispersondoesnotexist.com as the donor image. I never use images of real children in my work for both practical and ethical/moral reasons. Hopefully Pixiv will reinstate my account. In the meantime, I'll do my best to keep you all abreast of the situation. I am continuing to work on the website and produce new content while this is being resolved. Much love, - Descartes
