Doctor Who S02E00 - The Christmas Invasion FULL REACTION

Comments

I really enjoy your reactions to Doctor Who, even though you didn't love the first season. Honestly, it wasn't much different than how I felt about season 1, I might have liked maybe 2 more episodes than you did, but that's about it. So I look forward to your reactions for season 2, even though your not yet a Whovian, I wasn't one yet either at this time, when did I become a Whovian? While I'll say when I became one, when or if we make it to those episodes. I do feel like Christopher Eccleston deserves a little more props for his role as Doctor Who, a lot of people say to skip the first season, not to bother watching it. I always think, No, you shouldn't skip the first season it might not be great, but there are still some decent episodes and Christopher has his moments, lines and speeches that he does great, I still remember "Just this once, everybody lives!" and the way he delivered that line, plus the back and forth he had with the Dalek in the episode Dalek, he had some great line deliveries in that episode as well. He also had the added pressure of being the first new Doctor in a long time, people not really having faith that bringing Doctor Who back would work and the backstage stuff to deal with as well, so I feel like he deserves a little more props, respect for the work he put in, then he often gets being considered the skippable Doctor. That being said, David Tennant's here now and he's my absolute favorite, I love him in this role, I didn't know who he was when I first saw him in this, unlike most reactors, I didn't know about regeneration, I never watched the Classic Who and I started watching this show when it was a couple of seasons in only, so it wasn't quite huge everywhere yet and people weren't talking about it that much. I was surprised when the regeneration happened and immediately went to look up information about it and was like, so...this is a regular thing for this show. I'm not sure how I feel about that, we only got one season with this Doctor, I feel like we barely got to really know him and now we have a new one, what if I don't like him and this is going to keep happening. British TV is different, a few of the other British shows I've watched, also had lot's of cast changes quickly, it's not like American or Canadian Television, where people can often end up staying in the same show for 8, 10, 15 or 20 seasons.

Jeremy Burch

I already like the show a lot better with Tennant. Not that I hated the last doctor or anything but I think Tennant brings a certain charm to the role. Yes, Torchwood is another TV show. It is also a Dr Who spinoff.

Brandon Wiesner

I think it's actually jimjams, but I love the Arthur Dent reference of it

Zoot!

I loved the reference to Arthur Dent in his "JamJams". Arthur Dent is a character from the books series Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was also a radio series, a BBC TV series and an American made movie. The radio series was good, the BBC TV series was good, the movie...not so much (damn Americans).

So happy you're giving David Tenant a go, I remember when I first saw this, it wasn't at Christmas time because I was holiday with my family. I didn't get to see this until nearly Easter via reruns. And wow Tenant won me real quick cause he's got charm, style and can be very dark and intimidating real quick (he's sometimes more scary then the aliens he fights every week). You can also probably tell that the show had a budget boost in this special, due to high ratings in the last season, so do expect some better CG and prosthetic make-up.

Charlie Matthews

I think the first one he picks up is his Casanova costume (or at least similar to it).

Toasty Overlord

I absolutely enjoy your reactions, even if it's something you don't like. A different perspective is what makes it enjoyable (as long as it's not something that makes you absolutely miserable to watch)

Just James. Patreon member. Yes we know who you are… Great!, now that’s out the way we are off, this was the first episode I saw in full and was hooked ever since. The year was 2006 Buffy and Angel was over and the only thing worth watching was this and a new show about a superboy and his red and blue jacket. ( I wonder whatever happened to him) There was also a new show about two tall American brothers running round shaving people humping things, the family business, they had a nice car. Did you know The TARDIS wardrobe contains a Hogwarts uniform. David Tennant was fresh off his appearance as Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The prototype of the Sycorax swords was auctioned on eBay to raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. It raised £920.51. Who knew a cup of tea solves everything, how very British, and yes we all want to see YOUR reactions to the show that's why we are here. Toodle pip

I'm loving your reactions to Dr who a lot started following you when you started the Flash and Arrow reactions and have stuck ever since! And just compared to other Time travel stories I've seen weather its from Flash or something else Dr who literally does shit I didn't know was a thing and I love how creative they are with it its definately silly but that's half the fun its silly with emotional moments that hit when they need to

Narutoanime16
