Agatha All Along S01E07 - Death's Hand In Mine FULL REACTION

I loved this episode. It was very confusing initially with the scenes out of order (didn’t help that I initially watched at like 3am when it first dropped) but once i realised it was great. Also Patti LuPone absolutely killed it. Also, i wasn’t spoiled on Rio being death! I actually think i kind of was but I didn’t know what it meant if that makes sense? It was a shock to me either way when she was revealed as death like that with the makeup and everything. I loved Agatha’s “i like the bad boys” line. Curious to find out what their relationship consisted of and what it will be in the next episodes.

I like the trippy, non-linear narrative of this episode. Patti LuPone killed it. As the wise sage, Dr. Furter once said, "A mental mind fuck can be nice." I think you would pretty much have to block out the story beats linearly and then figure out how things flow for from Lilia's perspective. Not even just for this episode, but ostensibly for the season, in order to fit those other random bits into the earlier episodes. It's probably the years of shows conditioning me to not fully accept a character is really, most sincerely dead until a show is essentially over, but there feels like there's just enough wiggly room between us seeing Lilia fall and the presumed impalement, that I won't be surprised if someone, somehow manages to pop back to that moment and rescued her. I don't necessarily believe that's what actually will happen, I just doubt most show's sincerity when killing a character. Which is unfortunate, because this would make for a nice resolution for Lilia's character. I also can't help think about the ages of these characters, with Agatha and Lilia, and I think Jen, all being centuries old; and how that really relates to any of them dying. Once upon a time I thought it would be cool to live to be like, 120; but now, the thought of doing this shit for another 80 years sound horrible, forget 300 years or more. I was not actually spoiled by the reveal of Rio being Death. I'm not as familiar with Marvel lore, so I don't know many of the story arcs or characters. It should be interesting to see what direction they go with that. I can only imagine how that all went down offering Aubrey Plaza the role of death. Agent: There's an offer from Marvel to play a witch who turns out to be Death, for about $350,000. Aubrey: Seems a little steep, but sure. Cut them a check. Agent: No, Aubrey, they want to pay you to play Death. Aubrey: .... That doesn't make sense, but okay.

Really enjoyed this episode. One of (if not) the best in the show. I really wish I wasn’t spoiled on death as well. There were SO many clues in each episode I feel like a lot of people might have been able to guess. We’ll never know! Thanks Pop! The scene that made it clear to me after finding out was in episode 4 or 5 when Rio said she hurt Agatha by having to do her job even though she didn’t want to (Probably taking her son after he died). Aubrey Plaza was perfect casting for Death imo. I do find it funny that they were like “Well we can use Death as a love interest for Thanos anymore so why not a different villain?” I will say while I like all the other coven members, I wish they had kept the name “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” since the other members of the coven are so prominently featured. Interested to see how the rest plays out but hopefully we focus back on Agatha for the last few episodes.

- This was an incredible ep, probably close second favorite or tied with first with episode 4. - I already knew about Rio, but I still loved the reveal, I also love everyone’s reaction to it considering they know (or at least assumed) about Agatha/Rio. - Agatha in this episode was sooo chaotic and I loved her for it. I think “Want a straight answer ask a straight lady” may be my favourite line of the entire show. I also love that the Tarror proved she has been telling the truth. - This is how I think they should have done episode 6, where they intertwined the backstory and current story better. - It was really good how they tied together all of Lilia’s previous outburst. - I am sad Lilia died, but I thought it was very fitting, especially because she accepted her power, and by extension herself. - I am very excited for next week, but sad it’s going to be over.
