I think both George and Meredith are at fault for what happened, but I don't think either owes the other an apology. That or they both owe each other an apology. It's either both or neither. They both truly knew how the other felt and still had sex. They used each other.
This episode mostly annoyed me. Everyone was acting like hormonal teenagers. Don't get me started on how Izzie convinced Denny to have surgery.

This is about the revealing they had sex.
Its about Meredith was hurt that Derek rejected her, she wanted to feel better, the feel loved. She knew George loved her so she decided to have sex with him to make herself feel better.
Problem is, she knew she didn't love George, not in that way, she let him believe that, to get what she wanted. Only to realize that its not what she wanted and started crying in instant regret.
George realized that she never cared for him like he cared for her and that she was just using his feelings for her. He felt emotionally raped.
That's what she is apologizing for.
To re-emphasize, I feel both were wrong here. While Meredith should use people that care about her with no regard for their feelings, at the same time George should have recognized something was fishy here.
The sudden flip on her response to him right after Derek rejected Meredith is a sign that she is not thinking right. George wanted her romantic love so bad he didn't stop think the situation through.

Honestly i’m with Shan on this. I don’t think George is owed an apology at all. I really don’t see what Meredith did wrong. He’s mad at her for something she didn’t even do unless i’m misremembering. Wasn’t he the one that revealed it himself by mistake not her??

I don’t blame either George or Meridith. Both have some blame in this. I personally love both characters and hope they can get past this. This kind of drama was very common in the early 2000s, and I really don’t like how forced it feels. I also don’t like how they write male characters on this show early on. I feel like it has very problematic writing by today’s standards, but that is why I don’t really put too much thought or blame on anyone.
The writing and culture of the show are very much of its time. I also think they make George do out-of-character things sometimes just to force drama, which actively harms his character (They do this for other characters too). It’s frustrating because the show is addictive, and I love it, but they make some of the worst storylines and forced drama.
I am glad you are enjoying the show enough to continue. My favorite season is still a few seasons away. It would be exciting if you made it that far.

I feel both George and Meredith, both hold some blame .
Meredith used George. She was feeling bad and wanted to have sex with someone that really cared for her so she could feel better, knowing full well that George might misinterpret this as her falling for him.
When he realized what was going on, he got hurt.
But George should have recognized something was going on in the situation. She goes from wanting Derek to suddenly after his wife comes back Meredith immediately falls in love with George.
That was wishful thinking and that's on him. If he truly cared for her, he would try to understand her pain and cut her some slack.
She apologized, sincerely.
As someone that cares for her, he should accept, even if it hurts.

I'm going to need George to stop behaving like an incel and get over Meredith FAST. I hate that everyone is putting the onus on her to be the bigger person here and not him. I understand everyone else just wanting things to go back to "normal" but he's the one making things not normal not her ffs.
I love Bailey, but her giving her child to Yang was very much not ok. She's a surgical intern and that is NOT her job. Did give us some very funny moments though.
You're right, Callie is She/Her despite the actor later coming out as NB. Sara Ramirez is an amazing actor too, I'm happy to see you know them. George needs a Callie to bring him down to earth. With a thud. You asked if she's a "real doctor", It gets a bit blurred a lot of the time, but I think Callie is an Ortho resident. So at the same level as Bailey (still learning but higher level than the interns) but specialising in Ortho. The main doctors are the attendings in the navy scrubs. Residents and Interns have the light blue.
I feel for Addison. She just wanted someone to tell her she looked nice. Unfortunately Derek is too far up his own ass to realise or care.
