POI has long been one of my S tier shows and probably in the top 5 of all time favorite series. I came to the show because I followed Michael Emerson from Lost to his next project. He continues to be a great character actor in everything he does> i was intrigued by the concept of the show and having the "evil" character's actor from Lost across from the literal "good" Jesus actor from the Passion of the Christ showed the range that could be played here.
The supporting characters are what drives the show to a large part though. Carter, Lionel. Shaw, Root and Elias all were fully fleshed out characters with complete arcs over the series. Also, we cannot forget the true best supporting character, Bear. I agree with the point you made a couple of episodes ago that this is the one show that brings a dog in as a character and does not forget about him after a few episodes. Bear looked like a one shot character but continues to be at the front and center even in the finale. He is a good boy.
As for my favorite episodes, i gotta say i love season 3 episode 3 "Lady Killer" which brought us the bad ass trio of Finch's Angels, Carter, Shaw and Zoe. While other shows would have had these 3 women marveling at each others dresses or shoes when they were getting ready to go to the club, these 3 were more interested in comparing weapon choices. That is bad ass.
You also have to mention the relationship between Root and Shaw. It was amazing at the time for CBS, an old fashioned and some might even say designed for old republican values, network to have two regular female characters even flirt, let alone love each other. (they couldn't say it, but they did). They couldn't really consummate the relationship because, well primetime network TV, but it was more than implied and almost as satisfying (NOT!)
Shan, you are one of the few reactors who has tried watching this show and the only one to my knowledge who has embraced and finished it. Thank you for your service

I just wanted to share that Person of Interest is the one show I wouldn't miss your reaction for, no matter what was going on. As soon as you posted, I'd watch it right away. I've been one of those viewers who watches and loves your content but doesn't often comment, and I wanted to let you know that I voted for this as my favorite reaction most weeks.
This show filled the void left by your Legends of Tomorrow reactions, which I also enjoyed, and I honestly don’t know what will replace it for me now. While I watch about 85% of your reactions, Person of Interest always brought a special anticipation that nothing else matches. I'm really going to miss seeing this show in your schedule!

Here we go....final episode. This show is in my top 20 all time shows, but would be in my top 5 for watching reactions of. Glad you stuck with it to the end.
So, what do you think will happen? Does anyone die? Does anyone get a happy ending? Or does everyone just go on existing?
Gonna miss all the characters. Finch, Reese, Root, Shaw, Fusco, Elias, Bear, Carter. The whole team.

It's been fun following your reactions on and off to this series.
Person of Interest was a show way ahead of its time. It was meant to be a sci-fi show, but as it turned out, it wasn't so much sci-fi as predicting the future (mostly). So they just sprinkled in more sci-fi elements as the story progressed, but even most of that turned out to be realistic with technological advances.
What makes this show go from great to absolutely fantastic for me is the characters. The main cast is amazing. Every. Single. One. Finch, Reese, Fusco, Shaw, Root, Carter, Bear and importantly, The Machine. The fact that a show can make you feel for a thing that isn't even alive is insanely impressive.
Then you have tha S-tier list of supporting cast. Nathan Ingram, Elias, Greer, Control to name a few. Honorable mentions with Hersh, Scarface and Zoe Morgan.
The way new characters were introduced on this show was also something special. Elias' first episode, Root's first episode, Shaw's first episode and even Control's first episode. All incredible episodes with beautiful twists and high stakes.
Who would have thought that when we met either Elias or Root, that they would turn out to be such badass protagonists by the end? Villains turned "good guy" for both of them. And then they both died in the same episode. Poetic, really.
Despite the fairly average budget, the show always also felt quite large in scope. I love how un-american it feels at times with focusing on showing Samaritan's growth outside of the US. The episode where Finch is in Hong Kong was a good example of that. And with how often they traveled outside of the U.S. or used gang members from lesser used countries in pop-culture, i.e. Latvia, Serbia, Slovenia, Lebanon to name a few.
Then I also want to mention the music. Ramin Djawadi, most known for his work on Game of Thrones, did such a brilliant work with Person of Interest, and I wish more people knew that what he did outside of Game of Thrones was actually incredible too.
Last thing I want to talk about is the show's evolution. Sometimes a show jumps the shark, either because it changes too much, or because it doesn't change at all and runs out of ideas. PoI, however, changed gradually over time. It went from a Batman-esque vigilante procedural of protecting random people to the AI apocalypse in a seamless fashion.
Well, you asked for a long comment, so you got it. :)

This show has shaped how I view all the new AI stuff that's been coming out the last few years and what's to come. Will we be lucky enough that they stay at bay, are as kind ( for the most part) as our Machine or is Samaritan coming? The creators were just ahead of their time.
The timelines were pretty expected but interesting to both watch and motivate Finch. The hardest, though not surprising, was Carter's survival but Lionel didn't get his wonderful redemption arc. In the current time when Lionel got shot I screamed the first time I saw it. Somewhere along the way he's become my favorite (other than Bear.) Though all of our team is wonderful. I really wish we'd had Carter for the whole ride, though her exit arc had some of my favorite episodes of the series. And season 3 is my favorite. Do you have a favorite season?
I think this is a solid final season, given they had only 13 episodes and Sarah Shahi had limited availability for half of it. I hope it's OK for me to say I absolutely love what you're about to watch and I can't wait to see how you feel about it.

Nice to see all those old faces again this episode like Nathan Ingram and interesting to see how their lives would have looked like if Finch never created The Machine , so series finale coming up ! , it always hurts to say goodbye to a show and it's characters , Person Of Interest will always be an iconic show to me
