Doctor Who S02E13 - Doomsday FULL REACTION

Comments

That "I did my duty, for Queen and country" line hits hard. That's a good bit.

Stargazer1682

I thought this was a good episode. The Daleks and the Cybermen, the Daleks were really talking trash to the Cybermen in this episode, that was kind of fun. I liked seeing Mickey again, Pete and Jackie having their moment as well as Pete coming back for Rose. It was sad that Rose and the Doctor won't ever be able to see each other again and that the Doctor didn't get a chance to say I love you back to Rose. I would like to see your reactions to season 3, I have seen a lot of Doctor Who reactions, so I wasn't really looking for more, there's only so many times you can rewatch a show before you think, I don't know if I really want to rewatch it again, maybe I at least want a break for awhile. So I'm not hoping for your reactions to season 3, simply because it's Doctor Who but because I am genuinely enjoying your reactions to the show and seeing your different perspective. As I mentioned in a previous comment, I will mention when I became a Whovian, well I really liked David Tennant as the Doctor and there were a couple of episodes I liked more than season 1, like The Girl in the Fireplace, which is one of my favorites, as well as meeting Sarah Jane Smith and this finale, I was still not a Whovian at this point.

I'm one of the ones surprised you were okay with fear her. I'd prefer you give the Christmas special a watch before making a decision. Most other reaction channels run those channels in addition to a day job. You are the professional.

Mike Simonton

I would like to see you continue, mainly because it's a viewpoint from a non-Sci fi fan, I have been a whovian since classic who but even for me this isn't even peak Who yet, it was never great for me it was always just good enough. And don't get me wrong I am a huge David Tennant fan, this just wasn't peak. I also watch Funnylilgal reacts because she is a self confessed lover of sci fi and space shit (as she puts it) so I like to see it from that perspective and as I said I like seeing it from your perspective as a non sci-fi/space shit person. Seeing if you have the same thoughts about each episode.

Andrew Polinski

I have been enjoying your reactions to Doctor Who. You may not be gushing over the show, but sometimes a different view point is good & I think your reactions have done a good job at this. I would only say continue if it's something you want to do. If you choose to continue I'm all on board, but if you choose not too I understand & support that as well.

It was Billie's choice to leave. It's been almost 20 years, so the memory is a bit hazy, but as I recall, Billie was considering leaving the series after the first season, but decided to stay on for one more year around the time David was cast; which worked out, as Billie and David ended up becoming really great friends in real life. I tried looking up why she left, and it seems to have been a combination of her marriage ending and the stress of the series being a success, which she didn't really expect. A lot of people have commented over the years just how grueling the hours are that going into the series. I really like this finale; I think it's well done and hits a lot of good story beats. Love Jackie and Pete getting together and the way they dance around it ("I don't care about that... How "very"?"). Pete can't even finish his thought, he just wants his wife back. And then that moment of Rose slipping towards the void and Pete arriving just in time to save her. Fantastic. As a prime example of the answer to your question whether we actually enjoy watching 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 reaction to Doctor Who - you didn't even have to say anything, but the change in your body language when Rose started falling towards the void was great. Your eyes went wide and we could practically hear your brain screaming, "They better not be killing Rose! I am done with this show if they actually kill Rose!" 𝘐𝘧 you do continue to watch Doctor Who, consider watching the first episode of the spin-off Torchwood - I'm not suggesting the entire first season, much less the series. I wouldn't push for that kind of extra commitment. Torchwood started around the same time as season 3 of Doctor Who. Just the first episode would be good, mainly because it's... a different show... which is about all I can say without any kind of spoilers; and suffice it to say, I'd be very curious what your reaction would be.

Stargazer1682

Would love for you to continue on with this amazing show, because I for one am here for YOUR reactions to the show, I know you know some bits and pieces here and there, but it is still your first time watching the show itself and it's been a real treat so far watching your reactions to my fav show, so thankyou for deciding to do Doctor Who, thoroughly enjoying watching every week. The only other reactions to DW I have seen are Blind Wave's. Fingers crossed you continue on.

Jim Lewis

I was thinking when the head woman at Torchwood kept reciting "For Queen and Country" as she was lead into the conversion chamber, if she was trying to imprint the thought into her brain to make her betray the Cybermen once she became one. I liked the use of 3D glasses as an instrument to see the void particles, very silly. I like silly in serious moments if done right. That was done right. Sad episode, not choked up sad, but still ... sad. I enjoyed this 2 part story. Overall, I have enjoyed these 2 seasons but if you stop reacting I probably will not keep watching on my own. I might read on the net what happens next in show out of curiosity ... not sure on that. Should you keep on? Totally up to you. I always enjoy your reactions, even when I disagree with your views on them...lol. But if it helps, I would keep watching your DW reactions if you keep doing them and the only other DW reactor I've watched was adragon. So I'm definitely not watching just because I want to see DW reactions by anyone. I also don't watch all the shows you react to, so I'm not just watching them because you are doing it. I do like your reaction to this show. I find it interesting to watch a reactor that is NOT a Whovian watching it and giving their honest opinion as I also am not a Whovian. But the show has my interest but I'm far from sold on it. So as I said, from my perspective I'm good with whichever you choose. But if my arm was twisted till I gave a pick, I would say give it another season. After all, they are only 13 eps. But if it really starts to annoy you, drop it, even mid season if you have to. Put it on the Flexible Schedule.

Haven’t watched the episode yet but if this is the last DW reaction, I want to thank you for at least giving it a genuine shot. Most people only give shows an episode or two so two full seasons is amazing! Ik you might feel like you need to be sold on the show already to continue but Ik some people who were sold until season 4. I like many people watched season 5-6 first then went back and watched 1-4 and even took me a while to get into these seasons. I obviously do hope to see you do the next season and more, even if it were to stop being a regular show and just became a pilot selection or something. I really do like seeing how you view the show in your reaction. Like you said, your reactions are very different to other reactors (Still surprised that you liked “Fear Her”). I can’t speak for anyone else but I feel like your reactions are more genuine than some others that have been “Doctor Who Yay!”* But if we don’t get “renewed for season 3”, again thank you for trying * Disclaimer: No offense to other reactors, ik some people enjoy that just not me

Wyatt

I definitely hope you'll continue reacting to Doctor Who; and yes, I do enjoy reactions and seeing your perspective on these episodes - which isn't always necessarily what everyone else's opinion of some episodes are. But that's okay. For the last 5 years there seemed to be zero hope of you ever even giving Doctor Who a chance, but now here we are, a full two seasons into the show. And you say you're not in love with it, but you obviously don't hate it enough to have already made up your mind to tap out. Naturally, it's still a possibility. You speak your mind about each episode, good or bad, which in itself is good; you've even liked episodes that some fans find subpar, which would presumably mean there's some level of investment in what your watching. You've warmed up enough to the show to sing along to the theme and laugh at some of the jokes. It's not always huge reactions, but they always feel genuine. There are other reactors who just go over the top, trying to "react;" and some I swear have seen the shows before, because they're ability to predict a lot of the plot points borders on the prescient. I think a possibly undervalued part of your reaction is the post reaction comments in subsequent videos; because that's where you're most engaged with the rest of us and share more of your own opinions about an episode. You even encourage people to comment and not be sorry about how long the post is; long as it's broken up enough to help make it easier to read. For whatever it's worth, you stuck it out through the entirety of Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash; which speaks a great deal to your patience and dedication. I don't give up on shows easily; I held onto Smallville for its entire run, which was probably 5 seasons more than I should have stayed with it. But I couldn't keep going with the Arrowverse shows much past the end of Arrow. If it hadn't been for Crisis, I probably would have given up sooner; and even Crisis let me down for the most part. Some good bits, but a lot of disappointing ones. For the main shows, I was pretty much just grudge watching for a good year or so before I gave up. All of which is to say, even at its lowest, Absorbaloth-level shit, I have never felt about Doctor Who the way I have about the dumpster fire the Arrowverse shows became. To be clear, I loved those shows when they started; they had some great writing the first couple of seasons of Arrow and The Flash. I remember seeing a clip from season one of The Flash years later and just thinking, "Damn, this show used to be so good. What the hell happened??" I don't know how this post turned into an Arrowverse shitpost, and you may have wildly different opinions about the quality level of those shows over time, as I haven't watched your reactions to them; maybe you loved it, maybe you're an Olicity shipper... (🤮). I guess my point is, in comparison, was the urgency to watch the next episode of those shows consistently there, that you were able to keep going with them? Or at some point was it simply because there was a finish line in sight? I don't know if "mid" is enough, it depends on the person and show. I kind of felt that way about the first season or two of Agents of SHIELD, but came to really love that series by the end; which was odd to see my feelings about AoS and Arrow basically switch over roughly the same timeframe. This is a very weird rant. But, if you read it backwards it makes much more sense. And every third letter spells out a map to a secret buried treasure. Hopefully you'll continue watching the show. If you do, I'll do my best to rein in my neurodivergent fueled comments to be only like... 80% as rambling...

Stargazer1682

As I've said before if you're not wanting to continue I respect that and would hate to see you continue something you're not enjoying. That said I enjoy watching you and I enjoy watching doctor who reactions so together that's fun times. I would even enjoy reactions if you rip on it a little because that's half the fun of a reaction videos, seeing some ones different opinion.

Jake Hodgson

Hope you continue doctor who is a classic and it just keeps getting better
