I don't think Carson coming back as a clone took the wind out of original Carson's death , he's still dead and the emotions we and the show's characters had then are still valid , in my opinion all that doesn't get erased because a character comes back in another body in this case , he's another version of Carson with some of the same memories as the original , in scifi shows these things are possible and characters can comeback in a different shape or form

When they rescue Halling and the rest of the Athosians, the two boys in the front are Joe Flanigan's (Sheppard) real-life sons.

2024-11-29 23:25:25 +0000 UTCOne thing I'll say is that writers/producers/showrunners shouldn't take guidance from the fans ..UNLESS. they are severely fucking up pre-established source material. It also shows poor strength of character to be honest if the showrunners can so easily be swayed to change the narrative just to make some of their viewers happy. There are shows out there that have taken the wishes of their fans (and even of their actors) to heart and fucked up their show cause of it. Fans are supposed to WATCH. the show not run it ...And if they can't watch it without trying to meddle (without a proper reason) then they should go watch something else. I know that in this case it's ok ..Beckett DIDN'T really come back ..He's a clone ...But it does take away the impact of the real Beckett's death to know that there's another version of him potentially out there who possesses almost all the same knowledge as the original character. And also ...Poor Jewel ..What a slap in the face to hear some fans wanted the previous doctor to return But ...Luckily things turned out ok ..Fake Beckett was put on ice and Keller is still the doctor on Atlantis ...Fingers crossed it stays that way ..... (and they don't kill her off) :P

2024-11-28 20:14:07 +0000 UTCOne of the main reasons Carson was brought back was after he died a group of fans started up a website save Carson Beckett dot com & handful of them would stand outside Bridge studios for days with picket signs. Paul McGillion said once he felt honored that his character meant so much to people they would go through that effort. After seeing the fan demand for his return, the writer's worked in a way for him to return. Personally I would've rather had the Beckett they found be the original & the one that died be the clone, but I understand they also needed a reason to take him back off the playing board so neither him or Keller became redundant
