2024-12-11 18:02:40 +0000 UTCSide note: Every episode of Grey’s Anatomy is named after a famous song. Yay, 2 episodes this week. Wahoo!! No, that was not Preston’s mom and the Chief is not his dad (as you realized). He is Dr. Preston Burke, and the Chief is Dr. Richard Webber, no relation other than working together. Neat how Loretta Devine is here once again playing alongside of Jeffery Dean Morgan (although here they don’t share any scenes). Izzy really screwed up. 1. She endangered Denny. 2. She stole a heart from someone else that rightfully deserved it. 3. If she hadn’t told Burke Denny was getting worse, he wouldn’t have rushed back so fast and likely wouldn’t have been shot. One of the girls that is friends with the Chief’s niece is played by Hallee Hirsh, who played a regular on another medical drama, ER (2001). With everything else going on it’s hard to get into the sad story going on with the Chief’s niece dying of cancer. It started out kind of funny with him in the angry uncle mode over finding out she lost her virginity, then bam cancer. I’m kind of surprise by Christine. Normally she's the calm, controlled, get it done person. But when Burke needed her, she couldn’t do it. I know she’s not the relationship minded woman but I thought her Doctor response would have kicked in. Yep, Izzy threw away her career, and maybe her friends for nothing. Stupid.

2024-12-11 16:50:22 +0000 UTCI absolutely love Cristina. The way she handled the shooter at the beginning after learning he had just shot Burke was great. I also kinda love the fact that as his girlfriend she still calls him Burke and not Preston. Feels so formal but also just feels perfect for her character. Meredith trying to stop Izzy getting kicked out and protecting her is insane. She absolutely should never be in a hospital again and should be in a court room entering a guilty plea. Yeah as you realised Adele isn’t Burke’s mum. I think early on especially in season 1 they did have a bit of a father and son style relationship with Richard as the mentor, so i can see how you could think that tbf. I adore Bailey but she has some responsibility here too. She should have stepped in well before this and stopped it happening, but more than that, in the previous episode she okay’d Izzy handling this case. Let’s be honest Izzy is so insane she would have interfered anyway, but there’s no way she should have let her be anywhere near him in an official capacity. Maybe she couldn’t expect Izzy to go quite so insane, but with hindsight she should probably have been banned from the hospital because of how erratic she was being. That would have probably been a much more anticlimactic end to the season though… I’m glad George has finally apologised and accepted some responsibility for what happened. Took a while and he definitely should have done it sooner, but at least he did eventually. that does count for something I think. I still have an issue with him saying "I knew you weren't into it and I still let it happen" or whatever he said. No, you didn't "let it happen", you did it! I know i said last week that i like that this show has flawed characters, but Izzy is pushing it a bit isn’t she! Sorry for the 2 long comments this week! I have lots of thoughts about these episodes i guess.
