When Anubis held Thor prisoner and Thor's consciousness was transferred to the computer; SG-1 was able to download it and take him and his body back to the Asgard (I think they found the ship again later and retrieved his uploaded consciousness, if I recall correctly - I forget the exact sequence of events). This was right around the time when Michael Shanks left the show, so they wrote out Thor too. The next time we see Thor alive and well, Jack makes a comment to the effect of, "I thought you were going to go with the new body?" to which Thor responds, "I did." And of course, just in general, the entire Asgard society was based on cloning themselves and uploading their consciousness to a new body; allowing them to be functionally immortal - at least up to the point the errors in their genetic structure began to occur. So, the entire conceit of the Agard and Thor in particular was the same deal as Carson. They can die, but they could get better. I even think it would be an interesting storyline, if the franchise ever comes back, if like, the SGC finds an Asgard ship that was maybe commanded by like, Odin, which had been lost at a point before their genetic issues began; and his biology unlocks a part of the Asgard core that contains all of the stored consciousness of the Asgard and their biology, with a subroutine designed to restore them if the humans ever figured out how to solve their genetic problem. I really hope someone else got my Monty Python joke, but if nothing else, I was entertained hearing you say the lines from the Dead Parrot Sketch, even if you didn't pick up on it; and that's what really matters... 🤣

Stargazer1682

There's a photo floating around of Jason and Robert Picard, with Robert wearing the dreads wig.

Stargazer1682

Jason Mamoa came back this season without the dreads & his hair cut a lot shorter. All those dreads on his head were about an extra 10 pounds of weight on his head & it was effecting his neck & starting to cause damage. Given that that there was no time gap between the season Ronan would've had no time for a haircut, so the makeup department made a quick cheap wig for the premiere, then starting in episode 2 he was to go with no wig & just a reference that he changed his hair The Syfy network freaked out when they heard this saying that Ronan can't lose his dreads, it's a defining feature of his (which is funny since Brad Wright said initially Syfy hated the dreads). for a few episodes, Jason had to were the cheap wig which wasn't meant to hold up under scrutiny or last long while the make up team made a more expensive, detailed wig replicating his old dreads to the point the wig weighed the same & continued causing problems with his neck. Great job there looking out for the actors Syfy
