Bit of an oversight from the VFX department ..The Puddle Jumper bumps into the gate ..The gate positions itself back into place ...If you look closely ..The gate only has 8 chevrons ...After 14 seasons worth of Gateverse ..We should know by now that this is not the correct amount of chevrons on a stargate ..Someone fucked up on creating this 3D model and thought we wouldn't notice ..But we did 2. You were wondering how the navigation in the jumper could be malfunctioning if it's mind-controlled ....Well Doofus ...Mind-control or not ..It's still programming that runs the mind-controlled navigation software ...If it's infected with some kind of bug or if power goes out ..The ability to pilot the jumper goes with it 3. Man ...Woolsey just KEEPS. running into shannanigans ...Doors don't open for him ..He gets saddled with a baby while Teyla needs to go off-world ...He uses a teleporter and ends up on the wrong side of the city ...This dude just has the worst case of bad luck 4. Weir contacting the team through the laptop reminds me of something that happened to me years ago (Long before I watched this show ..It was on one of my first PC's) ...To this day I don't have ANY. explanation for how it happened or what/who it was ...But on some random day after having sat behind my PC for a while ..I decided to shut it off for the day and while it was shutting down Windows ..The LAST. thing that popped up on the monitor before going dark was "HELP" in huge font on the screen ...I immediately booted the PC up again ...But what was I gonna do?? Other than starting up Notepad and saying "Hello?" ...Which didn't work ..Yes ..I tried ...Some people would be scared ..Some confused ...I was intrigued and wanted to talk to whatever/whoever was on the other end ...But maybe it was just a glitch ...We'll never know 5. Weir says there are apparently still some civilizations out there that are technologically advanced ...Hopefully we get to meet some before the end of the show ...Hopefully they're good people ..We seem to be running into nothing but bad guys 6. And the episode ends on a shot of Weir ...Still out there ..No clarity as to what happened (yet again) ...Which is exactly the reason why Torri Higginson decided to say no when they showed her the script to this episode and why after a few small revisions they made it so that the actress who played Fran could play Weir instead 7. Also.. You said you were thinking about Weir in the last episode ...That's an interesting thought ...The fact they were jumping from one reality to the next ...What if in one of them ..Weir was still the leader of Atlantis? ...Or someone else we know and love?

2025-01-02 13:26:34 +0000 UTCFrom what I've read, Torri Higginson didn't like they direction the writers were taking with Weir's storyline and declined to return for this episode; so they rewrote it to use the Fran template actor.
