I caught up with this show, and I'm enjoying this season. It's not as high stakes and mysterious as the first season since that was a murder mystery and had a ton of twists and great cliffhangers, but this season is doing a great job of world-building and expanding the lore and characters. I actually don't mind that there's not a main villain this season. Learning about the past is a lot of fun! Hope you enjoy the last couple of episodes!

I'm really liking this storyline their doing with Trip, he started out feeling so much like a typical Manes, hateful, trying to kill aliens, only to turn out to be so different.
Interesting foreplay Liz, medical tests. So, we don't think it was alien abductions, also were being kind of calm about Charlie still being missing.
Well, hope that doesn't mess up Maria's sales pitch, I mean spiders are a hard pass for me, but they don't usually fly at your face, so I'm with you, she should have gone with bee.
Hey the guy who likes Alex is still here, I think I'm going to call him poetry guy...oh, wait, they gave me his name, Forrest, do I still call him poetry guy or Forrest now?
Wait why is ICE here, you can just go (insert choice words) away, leave Arturo alone, nothing bad is happening to Arturo. Oh, I hate this.
Wow, another brother, is this one less hateful and aggressive, here's hoping.
I like that Cameron is being there for Liz and trying her best to help her.
So, Louise died in 1997. That's why Nora said child!
"I will Raise the white walker", I really liked that scene with Michael and Isobel. We focus so much on Max and Isobel or Max and Michael, it was great to have this scene with Michael and Isobel.
Medication is considered contraband. They are incredibly unhelpful and aggravating, is Cameron okay?
The baby didn't die, Max is not related to Isobel! I don't think Max is who they were running from.
Maria is related to Isobel, well okay, that's interesting and explains the powers.
I'm glad Arturo is out, thanks Diego. Friends with your ex-fiance, who you disappeared on, okay, well, at least your both seeing someone else, so maybe it will be great. Max is here, let's just show how in love we are right in front of the ex, not even a little awkward.
Well I wanted to criticize Alex for believing in his dad, since we know he's lying, but yeah, I get why he want's to be able to believe people can change and doesn't want to live in a world of anger, not believing in anyone. I just wish his dad was actually trustworthy.
Well at least Max knows for sure he's not the one they were running from since he remembered Louise helping him.
I also felt like mentioning in the previous episode when I was saying I didn't think she overreacted, I wrote a lot about her insecurities, but the main reason I didn't think she overreacted was the medical files, which during that scene he did admit to looking at, I feel like it was valid being angry at someone for secretly looking into your medical files, not so much the insecurities, although insecurities can be a powerful thing.

You claim that so far the season isn't building towards anything
1. There's been a bunch of scenes throughout the season where they're trying to find out more information about their origin.. Scenes including OG Max himself.
2. In the present, people seem to keep getting abducted. Nobody knows for sure what's going on and/or why it's happening.
3. Maria found out she's somehow related to what went down with Michael's mum at the prison? She's figuring out she's got actual powers.. And now it turns out she's related to Isobel but Max isn't?
4. Max came back from the dead and seems to be having some issues with that while also having flashbacks to some sort of event from when he was a kid maybe... Something to do with where he comes from and why he has this need to kill?
There's PLENTY. of stuff being built up, not every show has a season long build up to a villain though. You've seen one too many shows where a season needs a prominent big bad.
Although one could possibly argue that point 2. on the list above is a contender for your need for a villain perhaps, or point 4 maybe.... Or... Maybe Maria turns evil? Stick around and find out.
And hey ..By the end of the episode you felt the need to watch the next one ...Clearly there's build-up there that makes you eager to watch more.
Well ..What are you waiting for? ..Get to it
