2025-01-29 13:05:59 +0000 UTCThey did Beth so wrong, I remember just like it was yesterday watching this episode when it originally aired on TV, my reaction was pretty much like yours and everyone’s else’s, I was already looking ahead to the much anticipated reunion between her and Maggie, thinking to myself how great it is to finally have all the survivors from the prison back together again…AND THEN POP!!! Just like that Beth’s story comes to a shocking end, and the worst thing about it is the fact that it was a gotdamn accident, this show isn’t shy about killing people off in the most f#cked up ways imaginable, I always try to warn reactors about getting too emotional invested in these characters, this ain’t Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where we have a core group that you just knew was always gonna be safe no matter what, AIN’T NOBODY SAFE ON THE WALKING DEAD!!!

This will not be the last time you get emotional and pissed at a death. It does help to know that it’s a zombie show so obviously characters are gonna die but it still hurts. Now take a guess on who dies next... Is it Carol? Daryl? Glenn?? Rick???? And, No those weren’t spoilers I’m just naming random characters. Don’t think I would give you any cheat sheets. OK but seriously I would love for you to make a board of all the characters you would not want to die, characters you don’t care either way and characters you actually want to die. Then every time a character dies you cross their name out. Oh and sorry but I actually haven’t watched this reaction yet bc my anxiety is just so bad I can’t even watch regular tv right now. I’m definitely coming back whenever I can but I just HAD to comment on this particular episode! Hope you stay strong for the future episodes! Also Hope you enjoy Fear the Walking Dead next! It’s still so surreal to imagine you’re actually watching the Walking Dead franchise!

Although I love and hate this death, I like it bc it’s so sudden you wouldn’t expect it, but I hate it because I love her character so much. I truly wish she could have lived at least a season or two more.

2025-01-26 00:21:13 +0000 UTCI don't watch the reactions, because I don't watch Walking Dead anymore, I took a break from the show when the kids were killed, because I don't like seeing kids die and heard about it before I saw the episode, unlike with Sophia. But I still intended to watch it again eventually, then I heard about this episode and decided I wasn't coming back and I still haven't. Although I have thought about it recently because of your reactions, but still don't know if I could.

2025-01-24 11:19:50 +0000 UTCOh boy, yeah I was dreading getting to this episode again. One of the most heartbreaking deaths on the show and it's so sudden. Like you thought Beth was going to be fine, going back with the group and then literally a second later... I really hated that they killed her off. She was one of the bright spots in the cast at the time. She was so sweet, lovely, full of hope and positive. Plus she was really cute. Then also, her death was so pointless. it came so out of left field that everyone all the way up to the catcher missed it. Poor Maggie hasn't even seen her sister for so long and then when she does, she's dead. I really didn't understand the writers at the time, why they would decide to make such a move, other than what someone else was saying, for shock value. This episode actually made me quit TWD dead for a good while. But of course, I kept watching later on. Still though, I couldn't help but wish Beth was still around. What is this a Joss Whedon show? LOL, IYKYK.

2025-01-24 06:32:02 +0000 UTCI believe in the comics (never read so not sure), Eugene was a high school physics teacher. Was Eugene my favorite character, no. After Hershel died, it was Beth. Grrrrrrrr. I guess now its Glen. The quote above the door to the rectory: "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life." Wow. Talk about a fitting bible quote. VERY sad episode. I was worried some comments a while back might have slightly spoiled you on this. When I originally watched this show I almost quit watching after this episode. Would I have liked to have seen Maggie more invested in trying to find Beth? Yes. Not sure why the writers didn't explore this. It wouldn't have been hard to at least have Maggie talk about it but circumstance keep getting in the way. Or at least go with either: Maggie convinced Beth was dead 9despite what Daryl told her) and couldn't bare to have hope any more after the events at the prison. Or, be convinced that Beth is alive and ok and they will find her eventually, since that's basically what happened with Glenn. But the scene at the end with Maggie falling to the ground was still heart rending for me in any case. Especially after her happiness at hearing Beth was found alive. Then Bam, dead. Another post credit Morgan. Who does he think he is with all these post credit scenes, Nick Fury? Is he trying to find Rick to join the Avengers. Coral ... Assemble!

2025-01-24 04:09:47 +0000 UTCSomeone in the comments was giving Maggie shit for not talking about Beth being missing and I had to really keep myself from replying something along the lines of the following: Yeah ...How much you wanna bet that next time she sees Beth she's gonna bawl her eyes out and make it all about her ....Fucking drama queen (Too soon? ..shrug) I miss mah Beth already --- Alright.. On the topic of Eugene and perhaps whether or not he's a favourite character of mine I can definitely relate to the character ...The dude is autistic ..CLEARLY. He lied his ass off to survive ...I 100% would do the same thing Luckily (Yeah I said it) I have the added bonus that I score very high on the psychopathy checklist (I might even be somewhat of a sociopath but the jury is still out on that one) and thus any "negative" side-effects (As in people dying cause of the lie) wouldn't affect me much ...(Provided it's people I don't care about ...See? ...There's why I don't think I'm a sociopath.. I still care ...Would people agree with that assessment? ..Like I said ..Jury is out on that one) ...Cause ultimately I'd be in it for me and mine (but mostly me) ...Just like I always am Is he my favourite character? ...No ...I can think of a few characters who'd rank higher on the list ...But he FOR. SURE. isn't anywhere near the bottom either ...He does some stupid shit sometimes but he does it to survive and I can totally understand that ...Plus he's pretty funny sometimes sooooo.. He's alright

2025-01-23 21:28:47 +0000 UTCDamn... They gave Beth the Andrea treatment didn't they!? I mean they separated her from the group for a whole season. Then she see's Carol, but not really able to catch up with her, because she's in a coma. Then when she finally see's the group she gets shot in the head. Beth did try to stab Dawn for trying to keep Noah behind, but that headshot was literally mind blowing... I think they probably treated Andrea better, because even though she had a separation story from the group she still got a decent reunion with them at the prison before she was killed off... Well I guess Sasha will have to be my 3rd favorite now... Her brother getting on my nerves though 😒 I have to hand it to Rick, and his group for their restraint on just shooting the one person that's responsible for Beth's death... I would have to take everybody out with guns... Guilty by association. Beth was like the best of them. She was a big sister to Judith, Carl's crush; pause.... Damn... Now that I think about it thank goodness Carl wasn't there to see what happened, because he would've took everybody out! 😂 But yeah, Beth was another who thought to be weak, but emotionally she became very strong while still keeping her compassion. I'll miss her... Should've been Eugene 😒
