I think Alicent’s awkwardness holding the baby was intentional so good picking up on it. As much as I like this show now, I originally couldn’t get through the 1st season. I had to spoil myself and watch s2 then come back once i knew what was going on to really enjoy s1. It’s great with context but feels a lot less accessible to the casual viewer than GOT did. I’m still not sure they made the right choice with time jumps and pacing so curious what you think about it.

2025-01-31 16:50:52 +0000 UTCi like getting as much book and behind the scenes info as i can after watching these episodes. theres inside the episode after each episode (and other extra clips and stuff) of HOTD. or theres alt shift x on youtube. those are where i get mine from. according to “my sources” Sir Cristan felt threatened by Joffrey (Laenor’s bf) and with the added pressure of soiling his white cloak and having already confessed to the queen, he broke and his let temper go, or something 🤷🏻♀️i might be remembering some details wrong. on a lighter note this is GOT universe did you really expect to get thru a wedding without some death and violence?🤭😋that was a joke with many if not all the reactors i watched idk if anyone told you but the opening is the Targaryan bloodlines and each connection is a different crest so its supposed to be changing (getting longer) like with each child Alicent has. i think its 3 by this episode. you are right about her not knowing how to handle children, she was around Rhaenyra’s age when she got married and started having kids, while the princess got to put it off. theres still lots of subtext and reading between the lines in the show. and lots of characters to keep track of without being introduced. The guy Alicent spoke to in the Godswood, is Larys Strong. his father is the new hand of the king, Lyonel Strong. at the wedding Larys was sitting next to his brother Harwin Strong. and in case you missed it the woman Daemon danced with was Laena Velaryon, the one they wanted the king to marry.
