Superman's arrival isn't always accompanied by a meteor shower. That was a part of the Superman mythos introduced by Smallville. Before that, it was just a lone rocket crashing near the kent farm or somewhere along their route home. And in one of the earlier iterations, I believe it wasn't even the Kents, but a random person who took him to an orphanage.. Sure, there are the odd Kryptonite fragments brought along in his wake, but often they're depicted as being pretty scattered around the world. On a side note, as Shan may or may not be aware (as it was hard to tell from her comment, when Perry told Jimmy to "park his fanny") - fanny means butt in the US. I know it's slang for a different part of some people's anatomy in other countries, but in the US we all have fannies... 😝
