To go over the movies, the first one was an ok adaptation and the second one was a terrible one. The first movie adapted the first book, but they cut out some things from the book to fit it into one movie. The second movie however, adapted the second book but also threw in some stuff from the later books just because. I don't really remember the second movie and don't really care to revisit it. This show is definitely a better adaptation than the books. There are some changes they did make, some I agree with, some I disagree with, but it is more faithful to the books. It also helps that the author of the books is working on this show, so I can trust that he will make it as faithful to the books as possible and any changes/additions will at least be faithful to the spirit of the books. I had forgotten to mention, but every episode except the last one has a sneak peek of the next episode, so definitely skip those. Only the last episode has an actual after credits scene.
