Just catching up, but in the reaction to episode 7 during the comment reading, you said The 100 Season 6 and 7 don't exist to you. I genuinely think Season 6 was a great season and was only let down by how much Season 7 messed up towards the end. Even Season 7 had a couple of standout episodes that could be high up in my rankings (the episode with Diyoza and Octavia raising Hope, the prequel backdoor pilot). If Season 7 was able to end very well without butchering some characters, then it wouldn’t be looked at as bad. I even think you enjoyed Season 6 in your reactions. I'm still hoping for a sequel series that retcons the ending or the prequel to come back. I miss The 100 so much.
When it was mentioned earlier that the actor for Burke is insanely homophobic, just think about the actor of George, who is gay in real life.
I do think it's right to tell the dad that he's going to be a dad. That's his DNA creating life, and I feel like you should always tell them when it's literally a part of them. Obviously, him being a part of the child's life is up to what they decide, but I feel like the dad should always be told.
It hurts me that my two favorite characters in the show are your two most hated 😅 (George and Izzie). They have a lot of flaws and make many mistakes, but I see that there is good inside them, and I still love them despite the flaws.
This episode is a classic example of what I was talking about several episodes ago about this show making characters do things that could "ruin" their characters. This show is literally just a soap opera in a hospital. That's why I can never take anything they do seriously because this time it's Burke and Cristina, and next time it could be Meredith or Derek or Alex or Sloan, etc. You get the picture. It's like they say, "What's the most drama we can create with these characters," and do it no matter the character. I know this doesn’t work for everybody, but for me, I just let all the drama happen and enjoy it without thinking of the real world or what it means for the characters because the characters will probably be better in a few episodes anyways.
I enjoyed this episode even if it had a lot of ethical issues. Hell, the Denny plot is one of my favorite arcs of the show. Yes, it's completely morally and ethically wrong, but it gave us nice drama and "WTF are they gonna do, and how are they gonna get out of this" feelings.
Sorry for the tangent I went on about random things. Never know when to shut up sometimes lol.

I love that this show gives us these complex topics and themes to discuss and I love your unique format of reactions with the comment reading part at the start! The greysverse really pushed the boundaries for TV at the time with the topics, it's nice that it gives us the opportunity to have these discussions!

When watching things from the past i never let modern sensibilities take over. I see it through a bubble of the time frame its from. I know not everybody can do that but for me it works out great.

So many people in this episode annoyed me, and i don't know if it is because i am watching it through modern lenses or not but the Derek and Meredith interactions in this episode make me uncomfortable, seems like it was exactly why there are issues when you date your boss.
And of course Burke just completely pisses me off.

Callie sounded very close to saying "We were on a break!" when talking to Izzy and Meredith about sleeping with Sloan.
Izzy does seem to get herself in trouble when she try's to be sympathetic to her patients. You know its bad when Shan is siding with George.
In Izzy's defense though, George never told anyone what he suspected about Burke, or that he he switched to Hahn.
So she would have no reason not to reassure his parents about Burke.
While do to tend to defend George (mainly because I like to cheer for the underdog, as he started as a big underdog).
I feel he was wrong here in one big way.
As I said earlier, He Told No One what he suspected besides Cristina. The one person he knew would not do anything.
As he said, there are other fathers in that hospital. He should have come forward with what he suspected, if to no one else, Derek, Burke's surgeon.
By keeping it to himself, he was complicit.
The Cristina/Burke thing is tricky. Was she trying to help Burke by covering for him or using this situation to get a chance to run surgeries she normally would never get at her level of training.
I think it was mostly her trying to help, but in a bad way. She should have encouraged him to talk to Derek so that as his surgeon, he could treat the problem.
But Cristina saw Burke as this surgeon god that was now weak.
So she helped him cover his weakness, giving him some confidence but not really fixing the root problem, his trembling hand.
Of course this route also benefitted her by letting her do the surgeries she wanted.
Burke had to right to dump on Derek. Yes, he was the surgeon but without the "patient" telling him about the trembling hand and with Burke supposedly being able to operate at his regular self. He would have no way of knowing anything was wrong with Burke's hand.
Side note, hospitals use military 24hr time.
When Meredith said time of death 7:35 am, that was wrong.
It should have been "Time of death, zero seven thirty five".

I think it’s fair to critique things from the past with today’s eyes, as long as we keep in mind that it is from the past if that makes sense. I see it more as criticising the views of the time rather than the item of media specifically.
Yeah i really hate Burke. The way he always has this really annoying and frankly undeserved ego about everything really just pisses me off. Makes me happy to see Dr Hahn here to keep him on his toes.
I think both him and Cristina are in the wrong, but he’s supposed to be the experienced one so i put the vast majority of the blame on him. Cristina is a hungry intern and obviously wants to do as much as possible but it’s his responsibility to say no to her and ensure patient safety. Very glad Cristina did the right thing in the end though.
I’m very much on George’s side with this one too. I understand why Izzie said what she said (at least when you consider that she doesn’t have the same info george does and believes Burke’s hype) but she absolutely should not have said anything. There’s also no world she should have shared the personal stuff with them, whether she thinks George has already told them or not.
I get Meredith’s point when it comes to her and Cristina, but as a doctor the safety of the patients should absolutely come above that. I suppose that’s easy for me to say though. Also meredith only really knew it in the final surgery he did right. She didn’t really have time to say anything or process it.
Yeah, i don’t love that they made burke be the knight in shining armour for Hahn, but i took it more as she just needed an extra doctor because it was too much for one person, rather than because it was too complicated for her. Still annoying though.
