Inheritance Progress Report 2/15/19

 

What a day.  


So, the day started off normal enough,  I figured I'd get up, work through messages and any bug reports that might have come in, then jump right into adding a bunch of scenes I'd received, or in a couple of cases written, over the last few days.

Had less messages than usual, but more bug reports, so that was largely a wash for time.  Got to chat with some good people, and got a couple of minor issues, including a small expansion to an existing bit of content, all taken care of.

Mid morning rolled around, and my entire day began to unravel.  My computer decided that it's not enough to die once a day, instead it upped it to three times an hour.  I cussed at it, I fumed, I called it names, I exclaimed in disbelief, and I even threatened the thing with physical violence, . . . . surprisingly enough, that last bit seems to be what needed to happen.  It hasn't crashed since.  In light of this though, I am even more glad than before that I should have my tax return coming in about a week from now and will be able to get a new unit at that time.

After that, I finally started to settle back into a work rhythm.  Started adding all the scenes that had been submitted this week along with what I'd completed.  Got six scenes of varying size coded into the game before chaos broke out on three fronts all at once. Two of those I have resolved, and I'm hopeful that the final one is sorted in the morning.  When it was all said and done, I got about half as much done today as I had hoped to.  I'm a bit disappointed, but at the same time given everything that happened today, it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.  As I often say:  You win some, you loose some.  

So, what are we looking at for the rest of the week then?
* Since we released our new build of Inheritance yesterday, there will be no release this evening.
* Going to be out tending to family obligations tomorrow.  If I get anything done tomorrow, it's going to be pretty minimal.
* Sunday; going to try finishing up what I failed to complete today.   
* Some undefined moment during the weekend:  I want to release a full release of Last Stand of Ra.  I did a sort of partial release last week, but since Patreon was experiencing some download issues, I didn't want to post it everywhere.  Instead I opted to wait.  Since those problems seem to have resolved themselves, I figure it's safe to post the game to all our usual posting locations.  The new build will include a couple of very minor fixes (Spelling issues) but will otherwise be the same as what was released a week ago.  

Now, off to over caffienate, find some sugar, then see if anything productive happens.
