Inheritance: Movement Build

Got something exciting for all of you to enjoy!

Attached is the latest for Inheritance.  At present, the intro is complete, and branches a bit making it replayable for new content.  The intro is intended to showcase the girls a little bit and to give you a chance to get to know them a little.  While its not obvious in this build, there are a lot of things going on in the background that helps define the girls' initial impression of the main character.  Once more content is accessible, this will have the potential to make them scared of you, or to start building their trust, depending on your choices.

Once the intro runs its course and the character wakes for the second day, the game drops you into a sandbox setting where you can explore the mansion and you can see how large the starting area is.   Right now however, there is no playable content beyond simple exploration.

The next build of the game will include randomized events for every location in the house which will hopefully start to showcase the degree of immersion we hope to present with this project.

It is important to note:  This game has not entered the regular release schedule yet.  We've got a hand full of major mechanical items to add to the game still, and that takes time.  Will be sure to keep you all posted on progress.

Enjoy!  And we would love to hear people's impressions on the game, as well as any spelling/grammar/bug reports so we can improve what is already here.

UPDATE:  This Patreon post has been made public as a new build has become available to Patreons.

Been meaning to update the mission statement above for quite a while now. Seems like today is as good a day as any! Will see about updating themes with the content above. Neat trick! Thank you. Guess even an old dog like me can learn a new trick once in a while. :D

Sounds awesome and its good to see you have a lot of ideas for it. Teaching Feeling is an awesome little game and its nice people are taking inspiration from it. I've always been fond of the slaves who adore their master approach but its great that you can pick how you want to play especially a fear route. You should consider updating your patreon blurb on your games to include the current adult themes and the themes you intend to add. You'll no doubt get more interest if people know what to expect from your games beyond the blurb. For instance pregnancy is something I did not expect but is a big interest of mine. You can break up your walls of text replies by holding the Shift key then hitting Enter. It'll put you on a new line for typing without publishing the message.

Its going to take time, the coding is out of my hands on this one (Far more complex than I understand) so we're working at the coder's pace. Rest assured, new content will become available you guys as it becomes available and has a chance to test it. And in the meantime, I intend to maintain the current pace with Wanton Cove until this game joins it in active development. Unlike Wanton Cove which has a story driven setting, Inheritance is going to be more of a sandbox setting As such, I'll keep working on it so long as there's enough interest in it. I mean, lets be honest, if I ever write enough content to fill the house and grounds and get bored with writing that stuff, I can add a beach somewhere for the character to visit either alone or with one or both of the girls, then flesh out content there. My current plans are to start with the mansion, move to the grounds, then fill out both of those a bit. Once those are comfortably playable, I want to start adding a nearby town with stores and businesses and such while coming back to add additional mansion related content as the mood strikes me. I want to write content so that you can allow the girls to work outside of the house if their trust is high enough and fear is low enough, allowing them to make cash for you. Granted this would result in less time to do house work. At the same time, I plan to eventually add the ability to turn the mansion into a brothel, or to turn the girls into camgirls if that's the path you want to take. In addition to those places, I also want to write content for a host of other locations, maybe even adding entire additional towns for the sake of taking vacations if the game goes on long enough. In the end, my intent is to create a setting where you can do almost anything you like with the girls, from becoming lovers (And yes marriage and pregnancy are things I plan to include eventually. Got a friend who has mapped out the pregnancy mechanic, we're just waiting for the NPC mechanics to be finalized before he codes it all out.) to friends, to treating them like employees, to slaves, to whores, or pretty much anything else you can think of. Additionally, I hope to engage patrons to see where people's interests lie and consider additional paths if anyone suggests something else that would work well with the setting. The game is heavily inspired by one of my favorite games named Teaching Feeling, and as such, there will likely be a significant focus on the nurturing of the girls, though I'll try to divide my time proportionate to people's interests as best I can. ;)

Glad to hear it. If you're lucky you might even get a few extra patreons since they can no longer cheese the system to get it. I accidentally did it myself today because I'm so used to instant billing and I was too lazy to read, oops. I made sure to pledge again. Looking forward to seeing more from Inheritance. I hope you keep working on it for quite a while, its a great concept.

Just looked up the help section of the site to look at the instant billing option. Looks like it does not affect existing patrons even if they have not yet paid anything. I'll likely make that change tomorrow then. Thank you again for your post!

Thank you for the error report, will put that on my list of things to look into. Yeah, seems like about two thirds of everyone that signs up drops out immediately, and there's a few names I've started to recognize because they sign up every time a new Patreon post goes up but always cancels shortly there after. I've been thinking about setting up the instant billing, but I'm not sure how it will affect you guys. For example, I dont want someone who has already signed up, but has not paid anything yet, to get sideswiped when they unexpectedly get billed, even for a dollar. I had meant to make that change at the beginning of this last month so it would affect the minimum of people, but forgot until a couple of days into the month.

Really nice job so far. The game seems to error out at the movement section if you ever load a save. Also you should consider putting on instant billing on patreon, it stops people from pledging for content then immediately dropping without ever paying.
