Inheritance Art Breakdown: Mansion Entrance

Received another set of art from our artist working on the backgrounds.  Like the batch I posted a day or two ago, this is a full set related to the location.  One of them will appear in the game's intro, while the others will be saved for when the grounds are added.

Mansion Entrance initial sketch:

I liked the setup, but I thought it was a little too close to the building.  I asked the artist to pull the image back just a little bit to show more of the building's front.

The updated sketch was sent a short time later:

The artist pulled things back enough to show the entire windows on the ground floor, a bit of the ground in front of the steps, and just far enough back to hint at the second story of the building.  Given the size of the characters we intend to display in the image in the future, we figured this size would be a good balance between size and presentation.

After that, the first inked version was sent to me:

It looked nice, but I immediately saw a couple of things to knitpick.  I asked the artist to make the front look like brick work as well as dirty the building up a little to give it the feel of age.

The revision appeared not long after:

I really liked the revision, so I gave the artist the green light to finish the set.  The above version looked good enough that we are using it as the "Day" version of the image.

I really enjoyed seeing this set come together.  The "Day" version will appear in the game's intro, while the rest of the set will be put aside until the grounds and weather effects get added to the game.
