What project(s) are you here for?
Added 2017-12-13 17:24:47 +0000 UTCSo, I was just replying to a message and I had the stray thought that it may be fun to find out how many people support which projects, and whether or not many people are here for both projects, or if our fan base is a bit polarized.
I look forward to seeing where people's leanings lie.

The next build of Wanton Cove will include the first installment of the game's main ending (Its going to be big. The bit I already wrote is around 6k words, and that's without all the taint/mutation/madness stuff coded into it. The second chunk is going to be larger than that. The build that follows will likely have a heavy emphasis on fleshing out the ending with all the fancy skill checks and such. :P

2017-12-14 22:06:06 +0000 UTCWatching the polling for "What Should I Work On?" each week and knowing Inheritance is clearly a favorite, it doesn't surprise me at all. Wanton Cove brought me here, and Wanton Cove is the game I play. I like the concept of Inheritance. I had a few problems playing the game early on. Times when I needed to summon Eve or Anna and could see them, or hear them, but could get no response and without some sort of guide, I found myself lost. Look, I am not a master gamer. I like storylines, and character movement that doesn't include maps and connecting corridors, and so on. Inheritance seems a nice blend between what I don't like and a directional system more like Wanton Cove. I appreciate that, but meanwhile, I am stuck wandering around the town multiple times with no progress on Day 9 and my only incentive is to keep from going mad or earning more taint. I am anxious for the next release of Wanton Cove.

2017-12-14 21:56:56 +0000 UTCWatching this poll, I've actually been increasingly surprised at how many people have been voting Inheritance. I never would have suspected it has such a strong following already.

2017-12-14 21:49:20 +0000 UTCI am actually under the category of “I am primarily here for Wanton Cove and would like to see it completed and waiting for “Inheritance” to get more completion.” I voted for supporting both.

2017-12-14 14:32:31 +0000 UTCI first started playing Wanton Cove when I saw it on TFGamesite, waiting for public releases with baited breath as it were. When the first teaser/proof-of-concept of Inheritance was posted there and I tried it out and thought the concept interesting was shortly before I started pledging.

2017-12-14 06:22:25 +0000 UTCFor what its worth, I think that is a very reasoned plan. I hope that when you get around to playing Inheritance that you enjoy it, and I encourage you to let me know what you think when you get that far. I find it very enjoyable to learn how people's experiences differ from their expectations. ;) As for some of the elements in Inheritance being completely awful, . . . the implications of what happened in their past is worse than anything I intend to actually include in the game. Its intended to be a game that touches the heart rather than stain the soul. If that makes sense? I actually see Wanton Cove and Inheritance as opposites in a way. Wanton Cove is dark and oppressive, filled with terrible things. Inheritance on the other hand is bright and is intended to bring out the best in people. And its looking like I'm starting to talk myself in circles, . . . which means its past time I get some sleep. Tomorrow I put the final touches on the next text build of Wanton Cove, then finish writing this really cute scene I'm writing for Eve in Inheritance. :D

2017-12-14 05:21:19 +0000 UTCI've mentioned a few times that I'm just here for Wanton Cove. Inheritance never sounded like the type of game that I would be interested in. While reading the last journal, about the other person's experience with the latter, I experienced a bit of a rollercoaster of thoughts and emotions. First, it sounded completely fucked up and I intended to stop supporting you because that's some sadistic shit they described, along with the recent changes to Patreon's billing. But your explanation made it sound less... completely awful. I'll stick around for now and might check it out myself before I make a final decision
2017-12-14 04:49:27 +0000 UTCI am truly overjoyed that you hold my work in such high regard! I received a note from Patreon earlier to the same effect. I repledged to someone just a little while ago since I figure Patreon's decision to not go through with the changes will likely stabilize my earnings again. (I'm patient, so I'm happy to wait for the old versions of games to be updated, on the rare occasion that I pledge to someone, its because I authentically love their work and want to show a bit of support, not because I need to have the latest build. When I started loosing right when I released a new build last week, I knew things were going to get back so I pulled my support from creators and sent out personal messages explaining my reasoning just to shore up my losses. After all, I have a family and need to worry about taking care of their needs first.) Its going to take time for Patreon to rebuild trust with people again, but I sincerely hope that they work towards that so we can all put this unpleasantness behind us.

2017-12-14 04:25:14 +0000 UTCI definitely signed up because of Inheritance myself, but without Allure to showcase how good your stuff can get I'm not sure I'd have remained a patron. If it helps, I also didn't even consider dropping your page when I was reconsidering pages because of the fee changes. *Side note: Anyone who like me did drop pages: If you look at your past pledges you will see a Repledge button near all of the ones you dropped. In case you want to renew them now.

2017-12-14 04:01:48 +0000 UTCWe all have our moments. ;) Thank you for voting. This poll is really amazing. I thought for sure that Wanton Cove would be WAY ahead just because I've been working on it for so much longer and Inheritance has only recently started seeing releases. I'm also happy to see that about a third of everyone likes both games, I really thought things were going to be more polarized than that!

2017-12-14 03:55:45 +0000 UTCI clicked both. At first from the email I thought you were asking for a list of other projects on the site people were supporting lol.

2017-12-14 03:50:54 +0000 UTCIts all good. I know some people care for one style of game or the other, I know a lot of people only play a new build every so often, even had one person who mentioned they had a program they could drop the game into that would tell them what had changed since the previous build and they could simply bring up the new/changed text to see what was new, there's no right or wrong way to play these games. I find for myself that there are only a couple of games that I play EVERY build of, but in most cases I simply follow and play every few builds. I hope that you enjoy the game when you get around to trying it.

2017-12-13 20:29:46 +0000 UTCTo be specific, I have not tried inheritance. I am / was waiting for it to get fleshed out because I found playing a lot of interim editions of games makes it hard to keep up their energy - I start skipping to get to new content and then start missing the buildup. But what you described in the last few more sounds intriguing

2017-12-13 20:12:51 +0000 UTCI know that for me it hurt, but a LOT of other creators were hit much harder than I was. Those are the people I feel bad for now. It will take time to heal, but I suspect that in another couple of months, this will all just be a bad memory. Brighter days ahead!
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 20:07:38 +0000 UTCGlad that they reversed the decision, sucks that a ton of patreons were already affected and people lost revenue. It's a bit scary to think that something completely out of your control can fuck you over this hard.

2017-12-13 19:19:28 +0000 UTCJust posted something about the new fees. On a side note, I've started to set up through itch.io, and am looking for additional places to host my work. The hope is that I can create some options for supporters in the hopes of making it easier to pledge and so I don't have all my eggs in one basket if one host turns into a complete shitstorm like this in the future.
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 19:14:42 +0000 UTCWell, then I guess you're stuck with me for awhile yet:) One caveat would be Patreon's behaviour of course, if they're going to keep piling on fees I might have to just start sending money through paypal directly or something:P
RenegadePhantom
2017-12-13 19:00:25 +0000 UTCI should hope not! The game will continue growing at that point still. ;) I think in the coming weeks, I will start to ask questions like what kind(s) of settings people would like to explore. What kind(s) of TF themes they are interested in. Even the size of games they would prefer to play. And of course, even though I have a few game ideas for what to do next, I'm open to suggestions as well. In the end, I hope to have a list of 3-5 story ideas that I am excited about, then put it to a vote as to what game gets moved into early development.
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 18:50:08 +0000 UTCCool! I'm not saying that the moment Wanton v1.0 hits I'll be gone:P I'll likely stick around for a bit, see what you create and if it's something I like.
RenegadePhantom
2017-12-13 18:17:07 +0000 UTCUnderstood. I would like to note however that Inheritance WILL feature some TF content, making the girls almost completely customizable through in-game actions. ;) And whatever comes next will very likely include some TF themed elements as well.
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 18:12:34 +0000 UTCYou're welcome. I speak with Rfpnj fairly regularly (He helps with the coding and testing for my own games.), so I usually have at least some idea of what's going on with his own projects. ;)
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 18:10:54 +0000 UTCThere's too few really good transformation stories out there, so that's why I'm pledging. It's my fetish:P Honestly, I've played a bit of Inheritance but it's not really my thing. I do think you're awesome though, the amount of progress reports and behind the scenes stuff we're getting. But after the TF story is done, I'll likely migrate to the patreon of someone else who's making that content.

2017-12-13 17:54:30 +0000 UTCHopefully as I start to integrate Eve further into the story, those reservations will fade. I've started writing content for her that should allow players to start getting to know her better.
Aftermath Team
2017-12-13 17:51:07 +0000 UTCDidn't think to add that, after all, that one is Rfpnj's project and he has his own Patreon page for the game. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=4755050 For what its worth, I know he's sitting on a couple of major scenes I wrote for him, as well as a dozen or more new glory hole scenes I wrote for him over just this last couple of weeks. Not sure when he plans to release all of it, but I know for a fact that he's got a pretty big chunk of content he's sitting on (When I talked with him about a week or so ago, he mentioned that he couldn't justify a release for just a couple of scenes for one therapy patient, which is why I added a bit of GH content for him to add as well. Not sure how much more he needs to justify a release, but I'll be trying to get him a little more content some time next week if what he's already got isn't enough.)

2017-12-13 17:47:38 +0000 UTCI like both games, but as I have said previously Eve's character in Inheritance gives me pause.
