Zal'chaas Chibi: Art Breakdown

The last of four chibi style images commissioned for the site.

Zal'chaas was an interesting one.  The rule here on Patreon about no nudity displayed without a paywall stood in stark contrast with the fact that she is always depicted in the nude and would never wear clothes.

We decided to have a bit of fun with it.

First Image:

Needless to say, we have a nude here (Thank goodness we have it behind a paywall, huh?).  The artist thought it was important to start with the unaltered piece considering what we had planned for the piece.

Honestly, I loved this piece and its depressing to me that I can't share it in all her nude glory.  I DID ask that the image loose the "drip."

Second Image:

This was supposed to be the flats for the image.  With the addition of her tentacles, we opted to have her tentacles holding black sensor bars.

I told the artist that the colors were all wrong.  I emphasized her paleness.  The tentacles should have been dark, gray, shadowy.  And the black censor bars were grayer than I cared for.  I mentioned all of that to the artist and set them to work fixing all of it.  We had a difference of opinions on how dark the tentacles and censor bars should be, but we worked out a bit of a compromise.

The biggest thing though is that I wanted the tentacles to be holding the censor bars, kind of curled around them.  In this image they are just kind of holding them to her body.

Final Image:

I'll confess, the artist leaned a bit further towards their own version on the colors with both the tentacles and censor bars, but I'm kind of glad that they did.  I thought the colors looked great.  Also, the tentacles curled around the censor bars turned out much better in this version.
