Best news I've heard all week!

Patreon just released a letter that says they are reversing the changes they made to billing!  Their statement echoes my own feelings on the issue, that if costs need to be increased, that cost should be on creators, then the creators in turn can decide if they will take that hit or pass some, or all, of those new costs on to their supporters.  As I have mentioned before, I see the fees as a simple cost of doing business and have no problem with paying them out of my earnings, it was not their place to decide that you guys should all be paying those fees for me.

Very happy to see that things will remain the way they are right now, meaning that if you pledge a dollar, that's what you pay.

If any of you are interested in seeing what they had to say:

Words can not express how happy I am about this reversal.  But that said, this WAS still a terrible violation of trust, and its going to take time to heal the wounds inflicted by how they handled this.  And unfortunately, a fair wind organization (Which this rapid decision making looks like to me) is rarely out to do anything but do whatever will be right for them in the moment.

I lost close to a hundred dollars over their poor decision, and I'll admit that it hurt financially, but what has had me unable to sleep these last few days is thinking about the close to fifty people who we have lost in just a few days, and how it breaks my heart to know that so many fans of my projects have been hurt by this.

I hope that this news eases the displeasure and fears you have all been experiencing over this issue.  It will be wonderful if people begin to return, but at the same time, there is the principal of this issue.  I think no less of anyone who feels they do not want to support creators here on Patreon after such a painful violation of our trust.  Rest assured, I have every intention of maintaining free versions of all of my projects for those of you who who would be unable to enjoy my work otherwise. (Hey, I know what its like to be broke, and I also know what its like to dig in my heels on nothing more than principal.)

Here's to putting this BS behind us and to much brighter days ahead!
