What comes after Wanton Cove?
Added 2017-12-17 18:28:31 +0000 UTCWhile we've got a few months before the final touches will be put on Wanton Cove, its never too early to start planning my next project.
What I'd like to do here is pitch a few game ideas past all of you and let you all vote for what you'd like to see me start working on next.
Aftermath: Post apocalyptic setting in the same kind of theme as the Fallout games. The game would include lots of sex and gender swap.
Futa Apocalypse: Think zombie apocalypse, only instead of flesh eading zombies, you've got sex crazed shemales instead. If you get fucked, you become one of them.
Unnamed Sci-Fi game: The game would start on a space ship, either a colony ship or research ship. Something has gone terribly wrong however and people have started to behave strangely. Turns out that one of the research experiments that was supposed to help humanity has some unexpected side effects. The setting quickly evolves into a survival horror theme. You've been infected, granting you strange and wondrous powers, and while you need those powers to survive, every time you make use of them you end up loosing a little part of yourself.
Do another Lovefraftian Horror game? Not sure if I would do a sequel to Allure or if it would be its own game yet.

You probably made a good choice then! Transformations in Aftermath will eventually be available through several methods. You'll be able to curgically/chemically make changes, there will be changes inflicted from outside sources, and there will be mutations where you gain mutation points over time (Radiation exposure and similar.) that you will be able to spend on changes.

2017-12-19 21:19:20 +0000 UTCI can agree with that, they obviously have a lot of love into their settings. The amount of depth they hae added to their setting is pretty amazing.

2017-12-18 01:18:22 +0000 UTCI'm in love with the setting mostly, I don't care that much about the tabletop game. It's a fantastic setting from both an aesthetic and narrative point of view :)

2017-12-18 01:08:43 +0000 UTCIronically, while I really like Warhammer Fantasy, I never really cared much for 40k. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed some of the video games and a couple of the books, but the tabletop game just never really clicked with me.

2017-12-18 01:07:11 +0000 UTCIts been really nice for me. With children in school, the fact that I can work from home is incredibly convenient. No gas costs, no wear and tear on vehicles, weather doesn't affect my ability to get to work, if the school needs something (Early dismissal or anything else) I can get there to take care of whatever needs taking care of without having to ask my boss. I've got almost complete flexibility in my work environment, so long as I have steady progress, everyone seems happy! If you ever decide to start your own Patreon page, feel free to shoot me a message. I like talking shop, and I'll be happy to share some of what I do that's worked for me. I've spent a year now doing this through trial and error, . . . I've learned a lot of things NOT to do. :P

2017-12-18 01:05:23 +0000 UTCas a sidenote if you are going to go down that line, I remember something about Games Workshop opening their doors to not require a license for Warhammer 40k videogames... try tossing them a mail :p Imagine what you could accomplish in such a setting, getting fucked by Xenos and Chaos scum while being an arbitrator for the emperor! I'm being silly... I know... !.. :p

2017-12-18 01:05:18 +0000 UTCStill, nice to have some insight on how it works on patreon with taxes from an author. Guess it's an independent job with very flexible pay, I can see why skilled authors can see a nice kickstart here all the while they can pursue a project they themselves like. May have tried something here myself if my studies didn't keep me this busy, only got time to play haha!

2017-12-18 00:00:18 +0000 UTCI was actually thinking of movies like Pandora, Aliens, Doom, or games like Dead Space, and even elements of Bioshock when thinking up the story. I'm a big fan of zombie anything, but in the case of any of my games, I don't personally like to mix gore and sex, so any "zombie" elements would more likely be along the lines of what's detailed with the Futa Apocalypse pitch. The sci-fi game would probably include some shapeshifting into various people or tentacle monsters.

2017-12-17 23:30:17 +0000 UTCI'm of the same mindset on another lovecraftian horror game, but if people want it, who am I to complain? If I did another lovecraftian game now, I'd do a unique story. Its kind of like when I read, even if I read a series I will read one book, then read something else before coming back to the next book in the series. Its that damned ADD, I have to switch things up fairly regular to keep myself interested. :P

2017-12-17 23:25:12 +0000 UTCOf the money pledged, Patreon takes a 5% cut off the top. After that, I loose about another 10% in fees. In addition to that all of the art you see comes out of what I earn, and I try to send a little something to the coders once in a while too just so they know they are appreciated (Well, I send something to two of them third one never has given me the information I need to send him something.). Right now I've got enough to pay bills in a pinch (Wife works outside of the house we we have that income too) and its enough to make our budget comfortable if not lucrative. That said, growth has been steady, I started with nothing a year ago, and you can see what I make right here on my Patreon page. All said and done, I probably end up with 60-70% of that in my own pocket.

2017-12-17 23:21:30 +0000 UTCYes, I am doing this full time.

2017-12-17 23:08:22 +0000 UTCremove around 40-50% of it and you know approximately how much he have after taxes anf fees and such... I would say 'decent payroll' would be an overstatement, especially if he doesn't live in Thailand!

2017-12-17 22:20:40 +0000 UTCI would like to add I would much rather the unnamed sci-fi game felt more star-trekky than horror (there are star trek horror episodes though)! Oh and on a personal note... we had been fed so much zombie that I for one wouldn't mind if the whole ordeal dissapeared only to reappear again in 30-35 years! The zombie thing is a strong opinion, the sci-fi is just a preference, I would probably enjoy the game exactly how you imagined it :)

2017-12-17 22:15:11 +0000 UTCThis is nice btw, you've got a decent payroll on Patreon alone, are you doing this full-time?

2017-12-17 21:50:21 +0000 UTCWow a sequel to Allure of Wanton Cove would be great but I think it'd be timed best after a while when more people have had time to enjoy it like I do. Maybe after Aftermath or another game? I vote for Aftermath ;)

2017-12-17 18:37:17 +0000 UTCThe Unnamed Sci-Fi game would actually include shapeshifting, to the point of gender swap if someone wanted to. ;)

2017-12-17 18:36:49 +0000 UTCA combination of Aftermath and the unnamed Sci-Fi game so that gender swap is among the powers acquired, would be a nice compromise. Voted for Aftermath, though, which means it will probably lose, lol
