Yesterday went according to plan, today, . . . not so much.

Now, for the dramatic version:
Planning for this trip, I've been watching the weather for a couple of weeks now. Every time has indicated that there is a very small chance of some snow today, but it should be minimal if it does happen.
Going to bed last night, I opted to check the weather again and it showed that there may be a small stretch of our trip that could get as much as three inches of snow. I thought to myself "Meh, no big deal, take a little extra time and be careful, shouldn't even slow us down much.
Wake up this morning, our entire drive area is projecting between 2 and 8 inches of snow, . . . . even so, it was easy for me to say I'll take it easy and have little trouble.
All went according to plan until about noon today. Had someone come flying past me on the interstate, cut me off, then slam on their breaks. I reacted quick enough to avoid rear ending the vehicle and tried to angle for the rumble strip for the extra traction since I was moving at a pretty good clip. Rumble strip helped slow me, but I got just a little too far onto the shoulder in the process of NOT rear ending the other vehicle and next thing I knew I was headed down into a small ravine.
I managed to angle so I didn't hit anything on the way down, and all the fresh snow acted as a cushion.
Local Sheriff was on the scene by the time we were able to look up a local tow truck company. They made sure everything was ok and that we weren't hurt, asked if there was anything they could do to help. I told them we'd just talked with the tow people, thanked him for his time and told him to stay safe.
Tow truck showed up a little less than an hour later, and $200 poorer, we were back on the road again.
All said and done, its an experience I'd rather avoid in the future, but I'm pretty happy that it went as well as it did. We were out some time and money, but those things aren't too big of a deal in the big scheme of things. With no one hurt and no damage to the vehicle, I'll still call it a win. Just means we need to be careful with our spending for the next few days is all.

On a side note, had a little time this morning and started writing a new interactive scene for Eve. Whatever time I have this week will likely be spent finishing that up.
Also, I know we don't have a new Wanton Cove build up yet. I'm still sitting on it on this end. Its late here, and its been a long day, so I'll wait until tomorrow to post it. Sorry about the delay.

Thanks! So am I! Really, if it had to happen, it happened about as well as it could. And in hindsight, at least it will make for an interesting story, even if it was a bit stressful when it happened. ;)
